What I've been up to
It's been a good long bloody time since I've corresponded with G.net. About a solid month, really.
I've recently moved to another place in town, signed up for hair design school, and work at a haunted morgue.
The job is the most exciting part. I play as a kind of undead person or... one who should be dead, adorned with a shredded face, bruised and bound wrists, and a bleeding autopsy incision. Scaring people half out of their minds is more fun than I thought.
But anyway, I hope you guys are doing good. Cheers.

You've been missed. :]
Working at a haunted house is one of the most rewarding things you'll ever be paid to do. It's so satisfying to scare people to the point of falling to the floor, nearly smacking you in the face out of fear, or even pissing themselves (although holding back the laughter isn't so easy while trying to stay in character). I work in a vampire-infested nightclub sort of thing dancing around like a whore and jumping around corners to hiss at people. You seem like the type of person to really enjoy that kind of job. I'm glad you got it.

Oh yes. It's pretty much the greatest job I've ever had. No shit. Beautiful thing is, this haunt is thinking about going all year round, so I'll always have a part timer to get a little cash for whatever.
The character that I play is interwoven in the tale of the two main characters and their more interesting dynamic: Lillian Vanderdark blackmails Warren Vanderdark to have affairs with whomever she wishes. I happen to be the lover who Warren tries to slowly kill while Lillian attempts to keep me alive in secret. So my character is bound to the fine line of miserable life and near death. A kind of strange take on zombies in general. Never fully dying and constantly being kept alive by Lillian's experimental life supports.
...Short and sweet of it, anyway.

Haha, haven't seen you around in a while.
You gonna start popping up every now and again?

A little bit. Things will even out as soon as I start classes and find a solid place to live as well.
I'm really digging the mythos of The Baxter Avenue Morgue and plan on writing a short story in the same vein of Lovecraft about the Morgue.

Ah.
I have to write a short story in the vein of Lovecraft or Poe for English because the teacher was covering gothic literature, and I dread it. I'm absolutely awful at writing.

Damn. Well, your house is a lot more detailed than mine then. The only story behind this nightclub is that it's been taken over by vampires, and WE WANT YOUR BLOOD!111. It's sort of lame, and I never was a fan of vampires, but I enjoy it. The only problem is that I'm in a strobe-lit room for six hours straight, and it sort of bugs me out by the end of the night. It's a step up from last year when I worked in a haunted factory... SPOOOOKY.

Kontan, Xombie. I so wish. You are so lucky. (I work by a real morgue, but I'm not allowed to scare anybody. Bummer). The closest thing I will even get to that is when I'll be working at the Special Olympics this year ... and I still don't get to scare anybody. Total bummer.

Wait, what do the Special Olympics have to do with working in a haunted house?

Ah, Kontan is alive. And well, and employed, and enrolled to begin learning his chosen vocation. Excellent luck! I'm glad to see things working out so well.
My sympathies with the finding of a decent, solid place to live. Having plenty of hassle with that at the moment myself, former housemates and landlord not helping. The best of luck with it all, may your home be dry, warm, energy efficient, affordable, and have decent neighbours or flatmates. May the walls be truly your own to decorate, and may it feel truly safe.

Xombie, I was being ironic. I work in a hospital, but we are not allowed to do anything 'scary' in the way of Halloween stuff because of the younger patients (even though I never actually have any contact with anyone but my coworkers, because I work in the basement). The closest I will come to actually being around the 'kids' is when I will be working at the Special Olympics, and then I will have to go 'gothless' so I don't look so 'scary' -- as my coworkers call it -- (like seeing the 'real' me isn't going to be enough to scare these poor little tykes).

Yeah, it seems to have been a while. I can't say that I'll be at all regular again for the most part, but I will try and touch base with you guys when I can.
It's good to read these boards again.

At least things are going good for you Kontan. I take it that New York was not in the agenda?
Morgues are interesting places to poke around, I have a friend that works at one and I stop by here and then.

New York is simply not in the cards at this time. For now, life is grand. Save for a few loose ends and a couple headaches, life should be quite swell in about a month I'm hoping.
Wish me and the new roomie luck. We're applying for this cool ass place really close to school that's bloody huge. It's really cheap too, so we're getting a friend to go through the place with us who knows things about heating, cooling, water, and well... you get the idea. He's a handyman.
