A small piece of me
Here I go ...
I am in my mid thirties and grew up when being Gothic did not mean being part of the "goth", "punk" or "emo" movements which followed ... in fact I can still remember when "punk" was its own thing. (as much as it ever was)
Not sure I still fit into the category these days.
I'm manic-depressive, which means if I make a practice to come here regularly you'll see my personality leap about in the most mercurial of fashions.
I am not christian, but that does not mean I hate christianity or condone anti-christian propoganda which seems so popular with angsty pagans. I do believe in a universe you can't typically see with your eyes and would probably best be described as "spiritual" rather than religious.
I am intellectual, I read a great deal and am currently pursuing my degrees in Psychology and History.
I collect dolls with personalities and am in love with the fairie tale genre.
That's it for now.

I listen to a great deal of classical and jazz ...
I will read anything which strikes me as interesting at the time ... I enjoy horror, fantasy, modern faerie tales, interesting history/psychology books, philosophy - a big fan of plato, detective novels ... as for authors: I enjoy Neil Gaiman (I always mispell it), the short stories - though rarely novels - of Charles deLint ("Jack the Giant Killer" is worth a read, however), hate Stephen King ... the man had tallent once - but he's also a hack and his talent when the way of George Lucas ...
Movies ... I'm not a fan of comedies in general, though I loved Serenity and the entire Firely series (go watch it!) ... horror, though I hate the Saw films ... action, sci-fi, animation ... really, anything which looks good. Get me talking about films or books and I'll not stop for hours.

You spelled Neil Gaiman's name correctly, no worries.

The term "Jack" in this instance means prince - think of a deck of cards.
So the name actually means "Prince of Tears" or possibly "Lord of Tears"
I picked the name up from a Sword&Sorcery rpg book some years back and have been using it ever since.

YAY! NEIL!
Sorry, I feel a burst of irrational joy every time I meet another Neil Gaiman fan.
Welcome to Gnet.

I have been a gm for more than 15 years and run dozens of games in that time. Soon I'll be doing some playtesting for the new version of Little Fears ... the last long campaign I ran was a Star Wars game using the Deliria rpg system. (actually, that campaign isn't over, we just took a hiatus after the fall of Anakin and the birth of the Empire)

Neverwhere is one of my favorite books of all time ... mostly I think he is a better short story author and some of his novels - such as American Gods - feel more like a collection of short stories than novels in themselves.
