Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

The Cruxshadows

Hey there,

Never really listened to The Cruxshadows much and was wondering if anyone has an album they advise I purchase. Also, the band Collide is another band I have been meaning to check out, anyone have any suggestions about which album to go with?

[This answer will disappoint you]

I'd recommend none, since both those bands really aren't that good.

the cruxshadows are ok to dance to but their lyrical content is painful, if you like to feel pain I suggest you buy Ethernaut, however if you would like to listen to the sound of eden I recommend All About Eve , they are an early batcave band, and have slipped through the fissures of time....I recommend
their best of album their world is paradise stepping into a field of black wildflowers....

Telemetry Of A Fallen Angel was their first real big album that has many good tracks on it. I am also a fan of Paradox Addendum and their more recent album Dreamcypher - it went to #1 in the charts two years ago.

I enjoyed Mystery of a Whisper.

I'd second Mystery of a Whisper. It was the first Crüxshadows album I got.

Actually, I'll always be one of those guys who feel CXS will always deserve an honorable mention. They've deviated a whole lot from Darkwave, but when you look at all they've accomplished and meet them in person, you can't help but respect them.

Also, I wouldn't really say their lyrics are all that bad either. It really depends if you can relate or not. Winterborn, Eye Of The Storm, Deception, Happy Birthday... They're all good songs.

They're no longer on the top of my favorite music list, but they're always beloved to me.
