Happy Obama Day!
You feel that people? Bush is no longer the president of the United States of America.

I kinda feel sorry for Obama, cause everyone's like "Woohoo! Bush is gone! Oh, and we have this new guy, that's kinda cool too...."

I was pretty impressed by his address, I honestly thought that it was going to be all fluff and sunshine, which admittedly a lot of it was, but there was actually some real substance.

I loved how some people sang "na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" as Bush left, sure it was kind of disrespectful but after the disrespect Bush showed for the American people I felt it was pretty justified

yay! his intentions, promises and speeches are good. lets hope he keeps the promises. we saw the inauguration at school it was ok. obama stammered but most people would be nervous. nobody focused on the fact that bush is out of office they focused too much on the fact that obama is african-american but people should focus on him as a president.
happy obama day!

I didn't really notice this that much.
I will say I've never seen people so excited about an inauguration before.

Jon Stewart analyzed what Obama said at the inauguration, and he came to the conclusion that Obama's words were similar to Bush's words. Inauguration speeches by all Presidents are usually pretty cliché. If you're inspired by what Obama said, then you should be consistently inspired by what Bush said.

You have to expect a certain amount of meaningless fluff that is going to sound much the same no matter who says it, those are the things that Stewart focused on. Once you get beyond that there actually are quite a few differences that really aren't that difficult to see.

I found it funny how they had to silence all of the jeers when Bush was walking out.
I've heard a lot of people saying that Obama is going to ruin this country. What I'm thinking is : How could anybody do a worse job than Bush?

You know what? It's been two days since Obama has become president, and I'm already absolutely sick and tired of hearing his name. He went to what, ten inauguration parties? Good grief people are acting like it's the third coming of Jesus for crying out loud. I've already gone ahead and told my friends not to tell me anything about him, I've heard enough. I can't even stand watching the news anymore.
Enough people. He's just another president, except with a black paint job. Get over him, seriously.

I'm getting sick of everyone worshiping him. For once, I'd like to see a well-reasoned, non-partisan trashing of the guy.

Ok, I dont know what you people ar talking about. Not one Obama supporter that I have met has "worshipped" him. The Obama supporters, from what I have seen, have all been cautiously hopeful. I think it's the McCain supporters that are making shit up. Saying that people are calling him "the messiah"...wtf?
I am in support of him, sure...but I don't think anyone is stupid enough to think that he's perfect and that change will come quickly without us having to do any work.
Oh yea, good luck my generation and future generations...

I've actually met a few kinds of people (though online) who have appeared to have senselessly high confidence in Obama:
1. Small children, and
2. White people who think they're black.

Mmm... it's just that of all the coverage I've heard of him, they do a quick "but there are a few people who aren't raving over him... Here's one of them, for 5 seconds..."
But maybe I don't watch any right-leaning news.
