"Here I Am" by Critical Bill (but it's more of a light metal with some rap/hip hop influence...) and "A Letter to Elise" by The Cure (but then again, it's lighter).

Not sure if APC falls under metal, but they are good and do have a couple of great love songs...if a little twisted. Like Thinking of You and Weak and Powerless.

The phantom of the opera. You can find it in unlimited versions, rock, metal, pop, disco, operas...

I suggest you versions from:
-Nightwish
-Lacrimosa (the male singer sucks however )
-Iced Earth - The phantom opera Ghost (a little piecemaster from my point)

I know other versions, but if you wish to keep on metal..

Whoops if you are planning to use 'em as love songs with someone, there is something better.. :/

Humane by Lacuna coil.

But be warned: only the studio version on the Comalies CD is good, the live versions you see on YouTube etc. showcase the worst of Andrea Ferro.

But yeah, the studio version back and forth between male and female is awesome. It covers heartbreak and the hope of rediscovering love in a bittersweet metal form unique in the genre.

On the coldest winter night by Kamelot....

There's a song... It's so soft and far from metal... But it's so amazing, if a guy dedicated it to me i think i'll pass out... Everything by lifehouse...
