Well, for a start, it'd be nice if I didn't have to trawl through pages of filth. It would also be pleasant if all spew-minded and offensive posts were deleted. I really do not enjoy seeing a perfectly reasonable and rational (or even light-hearted and frivolous) conversation interrupted by an outburst of detritis which would be too shocking even for Regan O'Neill in her post-posession state.
I'm sure there are legal implications for anyone who allows obscenities to be published online.
Or are we all cooking socks in hell?

Jillian, there were a few private discussions at one point (not started by me or the admins) about getting me appointed to a mod position, but it never panned out. At this point I think it highly unlikely that it will happen here. If I really wanted to be a moderator, there are places that would welcome me to that role without hesitation.
My impression is that the owners/admins here want to regain a level of control over the three ring circus that these forums have devolved into. And it seems that their plan to do so involves hidden, unknown moderators who have no interaction with the posters. I suspect they have been reviewing their friends and aquintances for people who have never posted here and have no history with the place, but would be willing to serve as these "invisible" mods. The hope in this plan being that these new, invisible mods would not get caught up in the emotional arguments about history and loyalty, but would just police the joint per their command without question.
In the meantime I see them waiting out the current turmoil, hoping that the political protests and antiauthoritarian rants will subside soon. And since you and I have expressed opinions on these matters, there is little chance that we figure into their plans.
By the way, if I couldn't detect the sardonic satire in your comment, it's darned certain your victim didn't get it. It might be a good idea to explain yourself, so people don't get the right idea.
