This is nothing new. Google the word 'propranolol'. Whats actual 'new' about this drug they are talking about in the article is that it's being done in a joint project by the US and israeli military.
Makes you wonder exactly why the US and israeli military want to invent a drug to make people forget that events happened.
It also makes you wonder what exactly they will use it for once they perfect it...

Yeah, we could talk a whole new depth of conspiracy theories here...
What I find most unnerving, though, is that what has happened indeed makes you who you are. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Should important lessions in life be taken away? In the end, it could serve as just another powerful tool of manupilation.

If you look at dark periods in mankinds history, like Stalinism, you can see where this is even worse. Instead of being sent off for 're-education' in the gulag, the government could attempt to wipe your mind to forget the reasons why you dislike the government to begin with.
Been abused for years by the government? You won't remember a thing. Find yourself being tortured for information? Don't worry, when they are done you won't remember all the pain they put you through.
Forget re-education, they are working on un-education.
The bigger question is...does anyone think that the US wouldn't attempt to use this sort of thing on people say, in Guantanamo after months, or years, or torture?

exactly. Who wouldn't want to use memory-errasing in order to get what they need or to cover up their crimes.
I am not against science, but i am against the use of many of the discoveries. I think some very strickt laws should be issued NOW against ALL use of this memory errasing possibilities.
