Maybe she doesn't mean 'random' as in 'aleatory people of varied opinions and tastes to enjoy the broad diversity that is human society.'
She must have meant more 'random' as in 'people that wear cat ears and think they're oh-so-special for getting on top of chairs and applying japanese suffixes to unimaginative nicknames'
