"Accept this or suffer dire consequences"

So I go to my email & a "born again" bud of mine sends me one of those lame chain "religious" e-mails with a pic of her good bud JC superimposed over a setting (or rising?) sun and ol' JC hangin' out, nailed to the cross.

Purty picture, I suppose, if you're into that kind of thing.

Along with the pic is this bit o' phlegm:
Quote:
The president of Argentina received this picture and called it junk mail, 8 days later his son died. A man received this & immediately sent out copies... his surprise was winning the lottery. Alberto Martinez received this picture, gave it to his secretary to make copies but they forgot to distribute; she lost her job & he lost his family. This picture is miraculous & sacred. Send to 10 people.
Um..yeah.
Accept this bit of religion or suffer dire consequnces....riiiight.
For what its worth I deleted it and then a window popped up stating "There's been an error with Windows Internet Explorer and it will shut down".

The Lord works in mysterious ways...

I did confront her about these e-mails before (as this isn't the 1st time I've been part of one of her mass mailings), and asked for her how exactly am I supposed to take that thing?
On the one hand be grateful she thought of me but, on the other hand, ignore the fact that its a superstitiously inclined threat to do something?

Meh!
Religion: humanity's blessing & bane!

Right - so, uhm, God'll kill your kids if you delete pictures of Jesus from your computer?

How righteous.

Hmmm, I'm Catholic, and I hardly believe that the God I worship is that angry or bored to kill off people for not sending out a friggin' e-mail.

However, that one stupid chain letter about the girl with no eyes that kills you in the middle of the night scared the crap out of me, and I must admit, I reposted that on MySpace the first time I read it. =/

Fear has always been one of Christianity's main selling points.

You can kind of see how there might be a correlation between a person's religiousness and his support of the Bush regime.

Gah, I hate those things, and I'm a Christian. >_< I especially hate them if they are religion-based because it goes against everything the Bible teaches about prayer and trusting God.

That's not as bad as the ones that say, "If you -really- care about the person who forwarded this to you, forward it back! And whoever forwards it back to you after YOU forward it is your TRUE friend! "

No. My true friends are those who don't need validation from spam mail to know I care about them. Good grief, if you want to talk to me, then send me a -real- email, not this fake nice-nice crap.

Grr.

Doesn't toss mean masturbate in the UK? If so, the second one takes on a whole new meaning..........

Whoa...the imagery of replacing "toss" with "masturbate" in all three of those is pretty weird..especially considering a ladder doesn't have...yeah.......

I would just delete everything and not see it at all unless otherwise specified important or something. But that's just me.
