Wtf?
For some weird reason the roots of my hair have turned orange. I don't know why. I've been dyeing my hair black for the past 6 months or so now and nothing like this has ever happened before. Any ideas?

Maybe a bad formula in your die, or your hair clashing with it. Just an opinion. I'd consult a hair specialist. I'm basing this on the fact that you aren't a natural red, correct? If so, this could evolve into a serious condition.

It's also possible that your hair is naturally changing color. Don't scoff, it's possible. I used to blonde hair. Then it went a dark auburn. Now it's brown. (Pisses me off, too.)

It could be damage from overlapping dye jobs. I'd hie thee to a hairdresser just to be on the safe side.
If you are blonde and using black dye, sometimes it does wash out a bit and turn orange. Sadly, I have no idea why but I do think there is a fix for it.

My hairs naturally a kinda light brown/red colour. Do you reckon dyeing over the orange would work?

It might be a reaction of your natural hair colour onto the dye. Black dye usually darkens hair, but as for why it turned orange and not a darker shade, I do not know. You should better ask a hair specialist about it.

Have you been swimming a lot in heavily chlorinated pools?

I can't even remember the last time I went in the pool. It doesn't really matter since it doesn't really bother me. I just find it amusing.

Well, I dye my hair a lot (currently blue and pink) (hate blue) (whoops) and nothing like this has ever happened to me. You might want to go to a salon and ask them if they think something is wrong.
(Few minutes pass)
OK, my Mummy used to do hair for a living.
She says you either:
A. Did not leave it on long enough.
B. Used a different brand that was cheap **** and it didn't work.
C. You used brown dye instead of black.
D. Some people actually try to get the Halloween look you've probably got going.
She says you need to put black dye on just the orange part and leave it for the max time listed on the box.

My sister's hair did this the first time she dyed her hair black (She went from platinum blond) She freaked out and wet to the hair dressers, luckily, they fixed, though I have no clue how.
