Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

I love those guys. I saw these plugs that are moodstones that I want so bad, but I refuse to spend that much money on a plug when I'm only at a 0g.

I'm not going to tell anyone to -not- have them; I just don't think that they are attractive at -all-. *shrug*

Its a very satisfying experience. If you take your time and do it right, its very rewarding as you watch your ears gradually stretch. I'm a 2g which is still very small, but I'm so proud.

xD I agree that's its a surprisingly satisfying experience, but I'll stay at a baby 10 or 8. I just need to find the right ones. :3

Eh, doesn't seem like there's a point to stretching if you're just going to stay at 10 or 8. It's small enough so that nobody notices they're bigger than usual and big enough so that regular earrings don't fit. Kind of annoying, really.

For those of you who are awesome, how long did it take you to go from roughly 14g to about 3/4?

I think the larger ones are disgusting. Nothing personal, just doesn't appeal to me, with one exception, Maria Brink.

Spiritual? How is damaging your body cosmically or spiritually relevant?
I can see how it's psychologically relevant. I have a tattoo in my dead friend's honor.

I was under the impression that at least half of them were female. My powers of observation fail. Either that or they need to cut their hair.
Damn hippies.

Unless you're a Jew or a youth night Christian it's safe to say that the odds of having studied any religion are very low. Also, studying "religion" seems to be a very, very broad topic.

I'm at a 0g currently. It's addicting! I'm not sure how large I'll stretch my lobes. I think 5/8" is pretty decent.

Physical pain qua physical pain is not spiritual. That's just stupid. That some cultures attribute spiritual significance to a sacrifice like that is entirely different, and has more to do with that: sacrifice.
I doubt stretching her earlobes is that much sacrifice if it's so cool for her. She's just a white kid glorifying a dumb retrograde ritual most cultures are actually ignoring today, just because it looks old, obscure, and almost animalistic, therefore it must be more naturalistic and mystical. It's nothing but a patronizing glorification of the barbaric because of the already assumed superiority of her civilization over the others.
It's not a subversive interest in other cultures; it's an appropriation of their rituals after carving out their intended values and commodified to your own.
I think you're the one that doesn't know jack about religion, and most certainly even less on anthropology, but it's so easy to condemn and so hard to actually argue.
Apologize to Kontan now.

It took me about three years, but that's only because I stopped a whole bunch of times thinking that I was satisfied with the size of my lobes at the time. It won't take nearly as long if you keep at it, though.

Excellent. I'm at 00g at the moment but when I started I didn't have earlobes so it still just looks like a regular earring and I've got no patience.
Gracias.

I know my question doesn't pertain to earlobes...but who here has their septum pierced and what is best to use as a cleaner besides sea salt or dial?
