Spats

RightO , I have decided I want to make some black leather or material..SPATS. But......I have no knowledge of how to do this, and I can't seem to find a pattern on the net anywhere. Does anyone here have some home made spats? or a pattern at all? Or indeed, if anyone has any luck in finding a pattern that I could print off, would they be so kind as to post it for me please?

Thaaaankyou ^_^

OMG, that magazine is so cool to read and I downloaded all 3 issues too.

I wonder if Kontan has seen this? I'm sure we all know he loves this kind of stuff.

I made spats about 4 years ago, but they were long ones that went up to the knees as requested from my friend. Very easy to make and stylish too.

Great, thanks. This going to be a mammoth task I can only sew by hand...and badly at that. Still, I'll have a bash :/

Try a fabric glue like Fabri-tac. It's a permanent fabric adhesive that is washable. Then tack with some stitches in the places that would need a little more strength.

Of course I say this without actually having given the pattern a good lookey-loo as of yet.

I can't do this. It's babbling on about notches and selvedges...I have no knowledge of most of the terminology being used .
