Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Noticed Future Sound of London was mentioned in here... Squee! They're ambient rather than industrial, but oh, what ambience it is. Always makes my mind fly when I listen to it.
I've been looking for some more industrial artists tho. Handy thread, thanks people.

Hmmm...
I shall go copy out the playlists from The Synthetic Collection vol 1-7, Awake the Machines 1-5, and anything else that people have given me over the years.

My favorites as far as industral would be Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly and Velvet Acid Christ. It's so hard to nail down an actual favorite though. I love it all for the most part. Anything that can creep into the brain and make a home for it's self.

Never heard of them, but I will check them out. How about Margin Of Error? They are a prety cool industral band, one of my new favs.. Also check out Noise Unit if you get the chance, they are a side project of one of Front Line Assembly's members. They really kick ass as well.

I just wanted to bitch about how much the VNV Nation style vocals annoy me in industrial music. I love every single part of industrial music except for that dragging, droning, groaning male vocals that just grate rawly on my nerves. It's not the lyrics, it's the voice. Are there any good quality industrial artists who don't use vocals (or don't use those VNV Nation style vocals at any rate)?

hehe, yeah I think it may be an acquired taste. I'm listening to some Clan of Xymox now and all the tracks without the male singer's voice are really eargasmic.
I've never really liked vocal-heavy music of any kind though. I love listening to music that does its own talking.

Ah, you should listen to `Theme I` by Clan of Xymox then. ^.^ [One of my favorites.]

Einsturzende Neubauten is an obvious choice for me. Especially their older stuff.
XPQ-21 is wonderful. I second the previous recommendation.

May-Fly
Download
Mechanical Moth
Cubanate
Meg Lee Chin
Razed in Black
Velvet Acid Christ
Alice in Videoland
Zombie Girl
Tactical Sekt
Chiasm
Cinema Strange
Amduscia
NamNamBulu
