Carmen

Here is a poem of my own composition. Of course, I plan to one day become a senator as my father before me, but poetry is an amusing past time.

Tenebrae me involvere
Frigidum tamquam ferrum
Pugno mihi liberare
Sed nunc delendus sum
Vidisti puerum
Vidisti gladium
Vidisti obitus vitae

Semper idem. Qui nimium probat, nihil probat.

That's a pretty irrelevant statement there, Nike.

I wish it was, heh.

But your Latin hurts my eyes. Learn it better before showing off with it.

verbi tui me iratum fecit??? Little sense he makes, but he's a gothicus, so he's forgiven. Sorry to have caused you pain, but now that you have mentioned Horace, his wisdom might help you improve:

[...] nulla placere diu nec vivere carmina possunt quae scribuntur aquae potoribus.

So try drinking more wine instead of water, that seems to have worked well for Catullus, too, hehe.

Indeed this base Goth has rightly discovered an imperfection in my grammar. If word of this made its way to the Curia, I would be ruined. Quod silentium tuum empturus sit, barbare?
