Please allow me to introduce myself....
Em here...rather bored of Vampire Rave, Gothic Match and so on Ad Nauseum so searching for somewhere new...hope you're all well or happy at least!
Contrary to the old Johnny Nash number, there are as many answers as questions, have fun!
1. What do you do?
Work in a call centre (Blatantly didn't try hard enough in school!)
Run an e-bay store called kitsch_bitsch_originals selling any alternative women's wear I can make/get my hands on/am not to embarrassed to list!
Write in an apathetic kind of way - three quarters through my novel - Annie's Big Exit - and have been since 2004....
Bother venues down in Cardiff such as Barfly, Clwb Ifor Bach and make a nuisance of myself at local gigs right here in the People's Republic of Aberdare....
2. Where are you from?
On the side of a mountain in Deepest, Darkest South Wales...here be dragons!
3. Who is your favorite author?
There are a fairly varied few - Martha O'Connor (Bitch Goddess Notebook), Chrissie Glazebrook (The Madolescents, Blue Spark Sisters) Niall Jenkins (Grits), Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting, Filth, Marabou Stork Nightmares), Roddy Doyle (The Commitments, The Woman Who Walked Into Doors)
4. What are your favorite films?
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Natural Born Killers, Kill Bill vols I & II, Pulp Fiction, Badlands, My Own Private Idaho, Twin Town, The Crow, Interview with a Vampire, Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Shining, Carrie.
5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
Anything from good old thumping schlocky metal numbers from the 80s to punk, ska and new wave and loads of Elvis and sad old ballads at the end - kind of a wedding DJ on really good drugs!
6. At your funeral?
Always Look On The Bright Side of Life - Monty Python, of course!
7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
Happy, high, drunk and having great sex!
8. What kind of casket would you want?
Red and black striped with Anarchy A's all over!
9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
As little as possible, preferably in PVC, huge stacked-platform boots and a thick, luscious feather boa!
10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Having my Gran around, eating cake and not knowing about calories, TV shows like Grange Hill (don't make it like they used to!)
11. What's your favorite band?
Too numerous to mention but a few, but I AM very partial to Joy Division, New Model Army, The Manic Street Preachers, Velvet Underground and The Doors
12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Just to A'Level standard, but I would like to return to education to do a textiles/design based course
13. Why did you join?
For something different - all the other Goth sites I belong to are dating based and therefore rather one track orientated!
14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female
Look forward to hopefully getting to know others on this site...
Hugs, kisses n' yadda yadda...
Em xxx

Hehe... nice answer... I can empathise with those thoughts - although I wasn't a big fan of Grange Hill I heartily agree with the general sentiment. As for gran and uncomplicated cake, I miss those too
Welcome, Em (-ma, -ily, -er?)

Hello there!
One other question - because I'm nosy (and Welsh) - are you Welsh?
I mean, welcome either way, but always happy to find a fellow Cymraes!

Hello Em(-ily, -ma, -??)! Welcome to G.net.
Agreed! Cake without knowing what calories are... Though I'm not familiar with Grange Hill.
Does Grits Have to do with the acronym Girls Raised In the South?

Mandi you may want to start your own introduction thread and tell us a little more about yourself so that we can get to know you a little better

Likewise. Anyone who wants to die drunk, high, and having great sex can't be all bad. Even if you suck in anything other than this post.
So. More bands you like? Any punk?

Wow, you're the first person in here who's mentioned My Own Private Idaho (including me, as I forgot about it when doing my own intro). Fucking brilliant film.
Sooo, kiddie classics - how do you feel about Thundercats? If it's positive, I think we should run away and live together.

I like the title of the thread...
One of my favorite songs is "Sympathy for the Devil"... I'm guessing that's what inspired the title?
