Hannibal Rising... thoughts please?
Just noticed that they'res a new Hannible book, Hannibal rising, and also a film out soon too. But was wondering is the book any good? Have any of you got it?
Also are any of the other Thomas Harris *hannibal series* any good too? I have got one, but never got round to reading it.
Thoughts please

I just finished The Red Dragon, one of the Hannibal series books. I thought it was fairly decent, definitly worth the few nights it took to read it.

Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, and Hannibal are definitely good books. I didn't even know about Hannibal Rising until I saw the commercial for the movie about two days ago.

I read Hannibal Rising the other day. It is a creepy book and it explains how Hannibal Lector became what he is. It was a good read and revealed just how mad Dr.Lecter really is!

Haven't read the book, I'm sure it'll at least be decent.
As for the film, I predict failure. Hannibal without Anthony Hopkins? Puh-lease. Hopkins was the only thing that saved "Hannibal" from disaster.

Hannibal as in the guy, or that's one of the names of the movies?
Silence of the Lambs would still be (although at a much lower magnitude) a colossus among movies even without him.
Equally, we can know that the story itself will be good despite how good or bad the actors are.
I have not read the books, but they are in my reading list, although I still have about seven to read before beginning that saga.

Frankly, Hannibal Rising reads like an easy paycheck. Some books you can hardly put down, this one I could barely pick up.
Red Dragon was easily the best book of the series, especially describing Dolarhyde's perception of the women, the lights when he watches the screens of their home movies....
...but Silence of the Lambs the best film. A rare case of the movie being better than the book.

I'm way to wussy to ever read the books or watch the movies. Seriously. I would probably pee myself in fear.
My guy keeps telling me he'll watch them with me, though, and provide a nightlight if necessary.

I've only read Silence of the Lambs. I haven't gotton to the other books, but I fell in love with that book. I've read it twice, very very good.

I thought the Hannibal Rising movie was pretty shibby, but my brother tells me that the book was kind of pushed... if that makes sense.
The new Hannibal is completely beautiful!
