Uk Goth Band taking on Simon Cowel

A chance for a goth band to wipe out Simon Cowell?

'Gothic Rocksters': The Hiram Key are the only 'Goth Genre' band to have made it through to Peter Hooke's (Joy Division and New order) new daily live music show 'The Source'. (Live on Sky Showcase 2 Channel 203)

They beat 250 other bands from every other genre of music to appear on the show on November 21st 2010 at 9pm.

The Hiram Key are made up of ex-members of Nosferatu, Mechanical Cabaret and Christian Death.

This new project has been described as 'David Bowie, fronting The Cure' by the mainstream music press and 'as music to experience the 'original goth clubs' with (by a well know Goth journo).

You can find out more about The Hiram Key and their forthcoming album release 'Amerikafka' at http://thehiramkey.moonfruit.com

They are currently managed by London Scene Icon DJ 'Jon The Goth'

Please show your support by watching the show and casting a vote for them, maybe we can show modern music that Goth still has a place in the industry. For full details of how to find the show go here

Meanwhile here is Peter Hook talking about about his feelings about a goth band making it this far.

Is it really a good thing to "have a place in industry" ?

No, but this band actually has the retro Goth feel. I like 'em. A tad generic but considering the circumstances of being on the show it's not bad.

Okay, I listened to the promo song and all...

It's... not good. The music itself is pretty much what Sinjob pointed out. But Nite Nite also sounds very typically goth and they're fucking awesome.

"Suzzana in the Street" was pretty damn good. I had it on one of my old goth comps; sounds a lot like Echo & the Bunnymen. Rest is kinda eh...

Believe it or not, "Jon the Goth" tried to put on a goth club night in my town, it was a hilarious flop.
Then he tried to make moves on my 17 year old friend.
