Were you always planning on becoming a writer and if so, why did you study those fields?

Are/Did you share your writing on here? What fuels your writing techniques?
I like Anne Rice, are you familiar with Christopher Rice? For some reason I like his books. I've read, I think it was something to do with Snow.
Oh and what is your favorite sex position? J/W...

You can read some extracts from my book, The Shadow of Death, on this forum: https://www.gothic.net/boards/showthread.php?t=24878
I am driven by pain, passion and an ecstasy of darkness that shivers in my bones. I have seen that which cannot be described. It thunders in the far reaches of my brain, trickles down through the wet, grey fat of my nerves, and possesses my hands, my thoughts and my eyes while time is forgotten.

Hi Ami,
I never planned to become a writer.
Writing is something that consumes me. It emerged from the ashes when all ambition was lost, when all sense of purpose lay in sightless ruin, and the joy of a life without boundaries ran down my cheeks in hot streams of pointless tears.
It was always there, lurking in the shadows: hunting, learning, growing like a dark thing feeding off my senses and weaving its own deadly vision of the things that human eyes will never see.
Once I was a man. Now writing is the only thing that connects me to the beating heart of the mammal I used to be.
The mammal loved the science of thought. Destiny animated the warmth of its limbs and brought it to the altar that now drains its human blood onto the pages of a book.
A story of love, sex, hate and revenge in pursuit of dreams that are beyond the minds of mortal men and women. It is a gospel of unknown things.
It is The Shadow of Death

Why is it that I don't believe you have a degree on mathematics, philosophy, AND physics?

Hi Alan,
I have a BA in Mathematics.
I was fortunate enough to study at a university where the mathematics students could study units from any other department, provided that they didn't exceed forty percent of the credit in any given year.
Some of my course mates read options in Spanish and Theatre Studies.
I was a little less adventurous: philosophy of mathematics, philopsohy of science, philosophy of language, quantum physics and relativity.
To compensate for this I also drank and took drugs.
Peter

Because mathematics doesn't seem to go with philosophy.

Not true. Badious is a very prominent philosopher of mathematics. My point was that he wasn't going to have a degree in all those things. With the way he speaks I certainly was going to call bullshit on him saying he honestly had a degree in philosophy, and clearly he didn't have a degree in physics thinking that there are separate degrees for quantum physics and relativity.
And I was proven right.

Ah, well I haven't heard of mathematical philosophy. I don't pay a lot of attention to philosophical things, though.

Alan, you teach yet again.
If I grok Alain Badiou correctly (why do the French philosophers seem to have that name? Alain Badiou, Alain de Button...), then his views are borne out in the social back and forth here in the Gnet microcosm: non-religious members are attracted here and accumulate to the majority, so now Christianity or other religion becomes the boundary of "the void", leading to events (conflicts) where new members with religious beliefs are now in the minority. Gnet is one small beach on the ginormous social coastline, where other beaches stretch for miles with Christianity or Islam, where the waves recede compared to Gnet's rising tide. In both cases, even though the titles and beliefs of the majority are polar opposites, the state of being a majority redefines "the void" and its boundary where events occur.
I love this place.

Gnet has broken the reasoning tube in my brain. I think everyone is Kontan, who has become Mir.

Nah, that's just an aside. My suspicion is way funnier.
