Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Christian Death- get the Rozz Williams stuff. The early albums, and Iron Mask are his. Valor just wasn't the same, he didn't have the edgy voice and sounded rather generic. Some of the Rozz Williams stuff is deleted now, though, so you'll have to look in second hand shops.
Siouxie- Happy House, Killing Jar, Hong Kong Garden are all good songs to look out for (I think, anyway). JuJu's a good first album- as everyone else has said.
Bauhaus- check out compilations if you want some quick stuff. Crackle is good for an overall overview, and the Singles Collections are worth seeking out.

This sounds great! lol.
Anyways, my favorites Siouxie and the banshees is either Peek-A-Boo or Siouxie singing with Morrissey-Interlude. =]

I think the first song I heard from them (where I knew who it was) was 'Love in a Void'. Fun for dancing! Also, the Juju album is awesome. You can find Siouxsie and the Banshees music on amazon.com.

Sorry guys, I plug that site so much, but I do most of my book/music shopping there because of the prices, and I usually spend enough where I never have to pay shipping...

I don't really care for Siouxsie and the banshees too much. I think their is a few songs I can mention that are pretty good. Those would be : Hong Kong Garden , Peek-a-Boo , Dear Prudence , and the cover they did of Helter Skelter.

I know, Siouxsie and the Banshees are probably considered a bit mainstream by alot of Goths, but they are some of the originators within the genre.
Love a handfull of their songs;
Dazzle
Dear Prudence (Beatles cover, of course)
Killing Jar
Fireworks
Happyhouse
Face to Face

I love Siouxsie and the Banshees. Their music is awesome, it's withstood the test of time. I enjoy most of their work, especially Dazzle, and the cover of Venus in Furs.

I was just listening to Hyaena yesterday. Juju, Kiss in the Dreamhouse and Hyaena were their most amazing albums.
Their last couple left a lot to be desired; John Klein was an amazing guitarist, but he just didn't have the uniqueness of McGeoch, Smith or Carruthers.
I have different favorite songs of theirs all the time, but right now I think it would be 'Fireworks' off of Twice Upon A Time.

Hyaena is the album I lend to everyone who's just getting into Siouxsie or the goth scene. It's fantastic.

Woo, so many good threads resurrected; and yet I don't see my opinions in it.
I remember I met Siouxsie and the Banshees a long time ago, before ever hearing the term goth.
They were just a combination of jazz and pop for me.

The first song I remember hearing by them was their cover of 'Dear Prudence,' when I was in high school, but it didn't make much of an impression on me at the time. (Although it was interesting enough for me to put it on a mix of songs that I was taping off of an older kid's record collection.)
It wasn't until I saw the video for 'Spellbound' that I totally fell in love with them. From that moment, the way I listened to music, dressed and played guitar completely changed.

Haha, what? They do have both a jazz and a poppish sound. Just listen to The Passenger.

Awful backache. The damned school only allowed me until Friday to make up for everything; and as I'm not going to school on Friday, I must do it all today.

I figured something must be up, only two posts from you yesterday, and two today this morning until now. You usually put on more miles than that.
