It is motherfucking amazing simply because it is barbecue sauce.

I wish I could have this past New Years Eve again. It was really great fun. There's also a couple things I'd do differently to make it even better.

I don't care for it.
They get by on the name, so the product lacks.

It's not all bad though. Crookes and Nether Edge are quite nice. At the moment I live right next to the Blades stadium which is proper hectic on match day.

Nah it's not all bad. I used to live close to where you are and I always avoided being at home on match days. Seemed like the best approach. Nether Edge is quite nice and Totley is beautiful as it's right on the border of Derbyshire.

So I found the huntsman spider who scared the crap out of me on Monday morning, hanging off one of the curtains. After half a can of flyspray the fucker was still alive (he was the size of a small saucer)..
So I did what any self respecting person would do, I sucked him up the vacuum cleaner when he curled into a ball, trouble was he really didn't fit up the pipe and it took a lot of vacuuming power to get the spider up.
Then later on tonight, there was another one, again in the curtains, so I yelled at it "God dam it, this is not a haberdashery (spel?) huntman spider convention, get the heck outta my house." Figured that was enough warning before I put the other half a can of fly spray on the sucker.
Now I have to go out and buy a new can of flyspray.

Catch it with a bowl and a bit of cardboard. Then put it in your garden or out the window. They just eat insects, they aren't exactly super dangerous.

SJ - I used to do this - I was a archi-phob when I was little, then I met Fred, who was the huntsman my father had in his shed (that ate all the redbacks) and I started catching spiders and letting them go outside for a couple of decades. Got one off a ceiling once in an office full of screaming women.
when I became pregnant my phobia came back quite savagely - to the point where I spent 15 minutes having a panic attack over having to step over the corpse of a huntsman to go to the bathroom.
I ended up having to put a bucket over the poor spider and then it took me half a day before I got up the nerve to get the vacuum cleaner out and suck it up.
I'm still shakey with the spider thing and yeah it would have had to have been a mighty big bowl AND I would have had to have AC's 6'4" of height to get it above the curtain rail, plus wrestling a todder whose main occupation in life is being an octopus.
I know huntsmen are good spiders and I'm really trying to overcome my phobia about spiders and it's just going to take me a lot longer to get the panic under control.
Next time I might just offer the spider a beer and we'll sit down and have a chat about why he shouldn't be inside and all. Or maybe we can negotiate the hours he can come into the house (like when I'm asleep or out shopping or something).

Fruitbat - If it's too high next time, knock it off and away from you with a broom, and gently sweep/shunt it outside.

*Creaks in doubled over and aching like a motherfucker*
I have exercised every single day this week so far. Monumental for me.
Monday - Gym - Cardio and weights
Tuesday Gym - as above. I accidentally did 2 sets of 15 reps on the chest press, with a weight of 27.5 kilos, because I didn't look at the gauge properly and thought it said my usual 15 kilos....oops!
Tonight - I tried a class I haven't been to before. Body Combat. This is high impact aerobics, but it uses martial art and boxing moves. Punches and kicks mainly. Side kicks, jiggity jig, jabbing, I'm fine. Front facing high kicks rapidly followed by some darting about and complicated jabbery? NOOOOO. I FAIL
It was ok though. I'll go again ( all the exercise classes are included in my membership so since I'm paying 30 quid a month I'll bloody well get my money's worth!)
But sadly by the time I manage to just about do those high kicks it'll be time for the woman to do a new routine

Oooo body combat sounds like fun. I need to join a gym, I mean I have a gym in my complex but there is just equipment and I think I need the classes to stay motivated. I wish there were somewhere around here that offered classes late at night so I could go after work but even the 24 hour gyms only seem to offer classes until 8:00pm or so.

Check the spider out in the pictures thread - man that thing was HUGE!
Anyway I would have had to walked the spider up the driveway, because if you just put them outside the front door, they just come back in. Aussie spiders have attitude.

They've had some new machines in the gym, so tonight I had a go on what appeared at first glance, to be a slightly hefty looking brand new cross trainer.....It is a cross trainer ...........ON CRACK. I only managed 5 minutes on it before having to wobble off and lie down for some crunches to recover

The classes seriously help me to keep going. I think I would have dropped out with exercise long ago if I didn't have the classes. You can talk yourself out of going on the equipment, or finishing early ect, but once a class has started you feel obliged to stay there and join in, or risk looking like a pillock for walking out ( well I feel that way anyhow )
The latest classes at the leisure centre I go to start around 8 PM as well. But that works for me.
I know it isn't as good for motivation as such, but maybe you could get a few decent fitness DVD's if you can't make it to a class?

So...I finally got around to reading the book that Jake's dad wrote and I have to be totally honest it pretty much sucked. I mean the concept was a bit contrived but could have been done well enough but when he submitted the abstract to a publisher they decided that they wanted a novella instead of a real novel and I wish he had just said no and went with a different publisher. Everything was far too rushed, you didn't get much of a feeling for anything other than a few images which seemed overly detailed in relation to the rest of the work, and they weren't especially important in relation to the story line so there was no need for it. Admittedly the issue isn't that those bits are as detailed as they are it is the lack of detail in the rest of the book, but if the rest of the book had been as detailed as it could (and should) have been then it would have been much longer than the publisher wanted.
At least now they have made it into a screenplay and hopefully SyFy or someone will make an awesomely bad movie.
He has also decided to start on book two (not really a sequel but still related book) and will be searching for a different publisher, one who will let him write it the way he wants to.

Dude. Get real. You don't "have a photoshoot." Someone is going to take pictures of you.
