Woman puts Credit Cards in her Wii
Quote:
Oh NeoGaf, what would we do without you?
Thanks to a member of the internet forum NeoGaf, we have one of our favorite gaming fail stories EVAR. It all began when "HUELEN10's" neighbors decided to get a Wii for their family. Knowing their neighbor was a gamer, they asked for some recommendations on games they should purchase that the whole family could enjoy. Along with a few retail games, "HUELEN10" also recommended purchasing some Virtual Console games, as they had bought a Classic Controller to go with their new Wii.
Here's where it gets awesome.
"HUELEN10" explained to the wife and mother of the house next door that she could get Virtual Console games by going into the Wii Shop channel, putting in her credit card when prompted to do so, and purchasing the amount of Nintendo Points she needs to cover the games she wants. Well, "HUELEN10" got a phone call from said lady neighbor saying that the Wii wasn't working and she needs help. What was the issue?
The woman physically put 3 credit cards into the disc slot of her Wii. No joke. When the credit card number prompt came up on the screen, the woman jammed a credit card into the system, and then another, and then another. There is a Wii out there with no less that 3 credit cards forced into the disc slot because the owner thought that was how you purchase Nintendo Points. Worst part about it, the idiot lady neighbor expects "HUELEN10" to pay for the repairs. Good luck with that.

I don't think she should even be allowed near another game system.

The worst thing about this is that if she had a good lawyer, she could make the neighbor pay.

I know a computer repair guy who said that some time ago, he got a call from someone saying that the CD drive wasn't working. Turns out the guy had got a virus that popped up and said "FEED ME A COOKIE," so the guy tried to put a cookie in the CD drive.

i'm so glad i took the time and sat my mom down and taught her the basics when it comes to technology.
Stuff like this and the "cookie" thing is really not all that uncommon. You seriously have people who think the cd/dvd carriage is a cup holder.
i should start writing some of the stupid stuff down that i encounter.

Oh man, I worked as a cashier at Best Buy for a while, and the Geek Squad guys had the funniest stories...
One of my coworkers, who had been working there for a couple years, kept a running tally of people who came to the customer service desk who "couldn't find the 'any key' ". No joke....

There is a Best Buy/Geek Squad forum on Myspace where they recount all the shit they come across. It's golden.

Myspace is so irresponsible for a huge website. The only site I know of that lets in more malicious ads is ED.
EDIT: Oh, and the moderation is shit. I had a friend on there who got banned because a bunch of dumb teeny-boppers thought he was creepy. I swear. Internet kids think everyone who admits to being over 18 is a pedophile.

You know, i go to ED alot...i always like to check up on my favorite Lovecraftian Wannabe Hack Writer and have yet to get "hit" by anything except lulz. Of course i'm using Avast and the slightest little hint of something afoot and it let's me know immediately. Hell, i feel safe browsing around 29A Labs' site.

Thats hilarious. But like Ophie said, its sad because its possible she really will get him to pay for repairs.
When I worked in tech support we got a lot of stupid calls like that, the guy who used the CD tray as a coffee cup holder comes to mind. He honestly thought thats what it was meant for.

Weird. I frequently enjoyed the lulzy experience of ED until recently. Now every other page I open loads so much garbage that it freezes.
