Ahh. Yes my mom thought it would be a unique name, but apparently so did every other mom in the '80s.

Mine's Liusaidh, as the name would suggest. Nobody can ever say it, but it's quite easy, anyhoo. It means "warrior", or "light". I like my name, I don't really have a nickname...

I'm Claire.
I neither like nor dislike my name. I can't really think of what I would like to be called other than that. Not Honeythorn, that would be odd. When I was a child I desperately wanted to be called Star, after the woman in the film Lost Boys

I am Alicia R Norman -- and I don't feel any way about my name really -- but I suppose I would if it was something weird like Nelly Aida Head (there was a poor girl who actually had that...)

My name is Maren, it means ocean or sea. In my opinion it looks easy to say and spell, but nobody ever says my name right and people rarely spell it right.

I'm Matt, though alot of people know that by now. I like it alright. I'm not one of those people who prefer to be called by crazy words that would NEVER be used as a name. Like "I'm Disco cause I go to an EBM club!" (Lawls. Kerri, you know)

My name (no, I'm not lying) is Alise Corrine.
My family is -insane-.
"Alise" came from my Grandmother and mother arguing. Grandmother wanted to name me Alice, after a very accomplished relative, but my mum wanted to name me Elise. They came to a compromise.
"Corrine" is the name of some actress who was on TV in the '80's that my Grandmother liked.
My last name is just as odd, believe me. It's what happens when your patrilineal line is Czech/Roma.
Prouniciation Guide: Alise (AH-lease) Corrine (COH-rin)

Y'know my parents were seriously going to call me Electra.
But thankfully they didn't.

If I wasn't called Maren I was going to be called either Delaney or if I were a boy Eric.

Oh, I don't know about that. I hear it very rarely these days. It's one of those names that reminds me of the good old nineties. Don't ask. I don't know how lame that sounds.

Mariam.
You say it "Mary" with an "um" at the end. Some substitutes during roll call have said "Mario". WTF? How the hell do you get that?!!

My name is Alasdair, which I'm happy with except no.one.in.the.entire.world.can.spell.it
I mean.....literally, they even spelt it wrong on my school registers despite it being on official documents and shizz.
Reminds me of a time when I was about 6:
"Hey, what's your name?"
"Alasdair"
"That's a girls name. You should be a girl. Why aren't you a girl?"
I lol'ed hard

Now that I think of it, that's true; just as the myspace thread.
Well, my opinion is retracted, but as for me, I won't say my name; some people already know it, and it makes it a small mystery to the ones that don't know it until they find it out somewhere around. Plus, it sounds too much like Jillian for me to see a difference. :P

I am Laura, one of seemingly hundreds born in Liverpool in 1986. In my secondary school alone there were eight in my year.
Laura is from the latin, meaning laurel leaves. My surname is from the Irish meaning son of Nuadha, an ancient sea-god. I think Nuadha is also god of small dogs or tin whistles, or something else equally random.
