The military is comprised mostly of people that are given far too much recognition. 1/32 airmen, 1/16 seamen, and 4/10 marines/soldiers even have a job related to combat. A far smaller number actually experience it. Common perception is that everybody in the military is some kind of hard ass that blows stuff up for a living and is severely emotionally scared from the experience. Nothing could be further from the truth. I don't know what, exactly, perpetuates it, but it's a load of horse shit for the guy who pumps gas or the girl who plays the trumpet to be approached by people at the airport that want to thank them for their "service."

I would ask them what their job will be, and unless medic, infantry, armor, cavalry, or artillery is in the title, put your worries to sleep and be skeptical of anything they tell you about their experience.

One of them said something about jumping out of planes with guns, the other is doing something with computers like his dad did.
I'm more concerned about the first, not only because the job seems dangereous, but because he's extremely reckless...

I had to shoo some geese off of the putt-putt course today, usually I don't really care much about it one way or the other but they had a gaggle of the cutest little goslings that looked really sad and scared so I feel like an asshole.

Oh and screw being responsible - you get 18 years to be a kid and then you are supposed to be responsible for the next 70? the numbers are all wrong - go out and have fun - if anyone asks - blame the bat!

I'm tired - worn out kinda tired. haven't had more than 7 hours sleep in a night for 3 years - and I used to be a 12 hour a night girl or just don't wake me unless you have a heavy artilliary backup.

I haven't been to the gym maybe I'll just go get caffienated.

Fruitbat- Well, in that case, they can blame this Kitty as well. With all the medical advancements these days, the 30's are the new 20's! So I completely echo your shunning of responsibilities too early.

Growing up too quickly is bad for the soul. Take things on your own time.

I really have nothing to rant about at the moment. The Jager is kicking in and I'm feeling really happy and warm inside. But not just from the Jager =)

We have a new machine at work, and while they thought a great deal about how much money it will make them, they didn't think about how to organise packing off the huge amount of produce it can churn out.

So the entire lower end of the warehouse is in chaos right now. Pallettes and boxes all over the shop, we've just had to ram stuff in boxes and shove it out of the way to make space for more work.

Naturally all of this stuff can be used even if slightly imperfect in it's new wrap. So we got Fran , Ben the temp, and the new woman Alicia to come down and pack it all off into the correct boxes, while we ( Chris, Myself and Stef ) try to set up a decent packing system and see if we can keep up with the machine.

I am THIS FUCKING CLOSE *pinches fingers together* to taking a goddamn lumphammer to Fran's mashed up little fucking pug face.

She's SERIOUSLY fiucking pissing me off. All day she's done the following:

She's walked about with various sheets of paper - delivery notes and timesheets that are not only about a week old, but have nothing to fucking do with her.

She's done about 2 hours worth of actual physical work all fucking day.

She's talked NON STOP about her husband's brother's friend, who has been to Thailand and married a woman there, who is blatantly scamming him. When I say she talked non stop I mean that literally. She's been round the whole fucking warehouse and told EVERYONE the same story about it, and had the same discussion thereafter.

She's blatantly been choosing to do the very easiest jobs in the section today, just vaugely picking up bits of cardboard, sticking a few labels on, and wandering about talking about the fucking Thai bride incident with any poor sod who happens to breeze by on a forklift.

Not only that, she's also spent most of the day attempting to boss poor Alicia around and get her to do all the shit she doesn't feel like doing.

Which means all the heavier lifting, and she's even been making her write out the timesheets and do the delivery notes, standing there fucking dictating what to put on them, instead of doing the fucking things herself and showing Alicia in a normal manner.

I'm about ready to fucking snap. If she's like it tomorrow it'll be a bastard miracle if I don't end up verbally beating the shit out of her.

We've all told Adrian the manager about it. He's a fucking pussy and won't say anything to her. And she'd only ignore him anyway.

Ugh. I've been banned from driving before I've even learned how to. The consultant at the eye clinic says my field vision is so bad on my right side that I'd be a danger on the road and is writing to the DVLA to inform them that I'm not allowed to drive. This sucks so much balls, I was meant to be starting lessons this year :'(
