A play a lot of Gothic Rock, which I think is obvious being in a goth band. :P But my style incorporates the second-wave SoM sound, the early post-punk sound, and a bit of deathrock. I also play a lot of Doom Metal.

I didn't know D beat was a genre, I thought that it was only a drum pattern.

Hells yes it is man!! One of the bigger hardcore punk sub-genres out there. I'm heavily heavily influenced by DISCHARGE, DISCLOSE, ANTI-CIMEX and MOB 47, all those bands. Great shit.

When I play my bass, I play something that sounds kinda like adventure type music. I don't know if it has a name.

When I sing, I just sing. I'll sing anything from blues and country to glam rock and deathrock.

I really like singing Cure songs and Chameleons are starting to be another band I like to sing to. Sisters of Mercy is another band I kinda like to sing to as well.

Avant-garde. Seriously though, I write music in a variety of genres. I don't feel like limiting myself.

You kow I've never officially met the guy. There have been a number of times we were in the same room, but we were never introduced and in general he always seemed preoccupied with something. There was a couple of times in the 80's we were suppose to play together but none of the shows ever came together.

The first time I met CINEMA STRANGE was pretty funny. I think they took me for a reporter or something. Lucas spent some time trying to explain what "deathrock" was. I told him that I thought one of the most creative things he had done was name his band "CINEMA... whatever" instead of "THEATRE... whatever". He looked at me like I was an idiot

I heard that Patrik Mata is kinda full of himself.

But the Cinema Strange story is great. I'd love to meet the guys and almost had a chance to meet Lucas. Some guys from NY Decay were trying to put a regular Philadelphia deathrock event into play that he was supposed to play at, but that fell through. Deathrock + Philadelphia isn't exactly a workable mix. "How deathrock you are" seems to be based on geographical location nowadays. *coughcaliforniacough*
