Cool new Goth Rock band... Under Heaven.

Hi everybody,

If you're into Goth Rock/Metal bands like Within Temptation, Nightwish and Evanescence, you might want to check out this new band.... they're called Under Heaven and they're pretty good! I found them on MySpace. Unfortunately, I'm too new to this site to post their web addresses yet, but they are on MySpace. They also have an official website as well that you can find on google.

For anyone that's knows of them or heard their music, have you heard any news about if they're going to be playing a show sometime soon? I'm trying to find out if they'll be touring at some point. Anyway, check them out and let me know what you think of them. Thanks!

Chopin.

Wait, no. I thought you were talking about a goth rock band.

Actually, I have no clever words. I'll just say you're wrong.

1. Goth rock/metal bands? What does goth rock have to do with metal?
2. The bands you compared them to are pop/rock/alternative that's not goth.
3. To humor you I did search the band. I found a video of someone crying? "Authentic mental process of break down and vulnerability."
Boo! I can do that just as easily when I'm PMSing, and it doesn't take me 7 dang minutes to do so.

They have a music video out? I looked on their official website as well as on their MySpace page and there's nothing posted on either site about a music video they've done. I think this band has just started out, so I don't think it's the same group. I've tried looking for a video of them, but no luck yet.

Anyway, I'm not one to debate what's defined as "true Goth". For me, this band represents elements that I find to be Gothic. Obviously there be people who will disagree completely, but that's fine. For those who are interested in this kind of music though, I do urge you to check it out. You can find them on MySpace or at go on yahoo or google their official site.

I find it hilarious that bands like this are even considered goth.

But Drac, they wear black clothing and spooky make up. So they must be goth.

*sheds emo unicorn tears* Why can't we all just get along. However, a far cry from what I would consider true Goth music.

No one was being mean about it I don't think. This is the kind of stuff I was talking about on other threads.

It's not that we're here to debate weather what you find is good or not, but OBVIOUSLY it's not goth rock which you claimed in the beginning. You back pedal by saying that it's gothic to you instead of understanding the difference between gothic themes and the genre of goth rock. For the most part, people don't give two turds what you find to be gothic.

Self note: I almost feel like I've gone very anti-social. I seem to be immediately turned off to those who are oh so gothic and oh so vampyric.

I think I totally understand what Siousxie and Andrew Eldritch was going on about back in the 80s.

Here's something to think about: Lords of the New Church - Russian Roulette

Listen to that song and point out where it's even remotely gothic. After you come back saying that it isn't, then try to understand why it was considered goth rock.

Chopin...

Within Temptation and Nightwish are some of my favorite bands. They are metal, not goth rock. I think I'd be interested to hear Under Heaven- but after going through 4 pages on youtube and finding nothing I've given up. If you post the link, I will listen, mmkay?

Gothic Metal and Gothic rock are nothing alike

Gothic Metal is Nightwish and such
(NOT EVANUISANCE)
