Hahahaha. So how long do you think it'll take for the soy milk I drink to really have an effect on me? Cause you know, I should probably warn my boyfriend beforehand. You know, the whole two weeks' notice thing. *rolls eyes*

Well, this article is actually based in real facts; its claims are the thing that is ridiculous.
Soy has phytoestrogen, which mimics estrogen. For this reason there's speculation that they reduce men's level of testosterone and some studies do claim that there is a correlation(so, sorry GC, it only 'explains' gay males).
Of course, the article is still idiotic, because about four fifths of what we eat is soy-based. What do they give cows and chicken to eat? Soy grains.
It's hilarious that conservatives make this claim, and yet they will gradually 'become gay' because they love their good old Texan style steaks grown in good old slaughterhouses that would rather shut down than listen to leftist environmentalist propaganda.

Well, I can see it making men feel more feminine, but I don't see how there can be a very strong correlation between the consumption of soy and gay men. I mean, women who have a reduced level of estrogen don't leave their husbands for the lady across the street. They just have a tendency to start growing facial hair. And I believe it's been proven before that homosexuality isn't a hormonal imbalance or anything like that. So yeah, I'd agree that it could be to "blame" for some men seeming a little too feminine, but like you said Jillian, the "it makes you gay!" claims are bogus.

I'm amazed the author even bothered to research the topic before making such ridiculous claims.

Meh.. it's similar to the hormones they give to cows correlating with kids (especially girls) going through early puberty. But that is a lot more likely than soy "making people" gay. lol

Hah, am I glad I'm not a male then... I'd probably turn into a transvestite! lol. I'm eating soy products several times a day, by the way, and have never felt better. My skin's getting better, too... So, soy's good, and the writer of the article... um, I'll not go into that *cough*.

For women going through Menopause, I heard that Soy gives you natural hormones : ) Whatever that means. I don't know, that's what mommy told me when we went to go buy organic food.

Yeah, soy makes you gay... just as much as playing Grand Theft Auto makes you the next Charlie Manson. Of course, we're still waiting for the next Charlie Manson...

The mistake here is that they're equating femininity with (male) homosexuality, as usual, when the two are quite distinct. Being feminine doesn't necessarily mean one is more like a straight female, anyway...and now I'm confused. Meh.
A lot of these ultra-conservative Christians seem to see the gay button as the solution to all problems. Something "threatening" the faith? Okay, let's make it gay, so now it's satanic. Problem solved. Whee.

I don't know.....I've been eating a lot of soy products lately, but my attention as of late has been geared WAY more towards the opposite sex than the same. Explain that one!
(Joking and half joking aside, that was a very lame article and the author of it should be burned alive.)
