I was just gonna ask that! I want to know as well, because i had my long hair cut off. That was over 4-5 months ago. Yet, its barely past one inch long. Taking so long, well a deep conditioner i will try. Thanks. Any other ideas?

NONE of those creams or serums work. The best way to get your hair to grow is to take good care of it, condition it well, and try to avoid split hairs (as in, don't create them if you can help it and trim them regularly).

Haha, well. I found the haircut I want, but I want it to be a little longer on me, which would involve my hair getting longer. I read somewhere in this thread about 'Seakelp', but I can't find shit.

Also, haha. How do you get rid of a dry scalp? My friend told me to put lotion on it, and then wash it off in the morning, but that would make my hair greasy, right?

I dunno.

Head & Shoulders? For the dry scalp that is.

I've heard washing your hair in very high temperature water helps it grow. Though I'm not ceratin of it, because it's just something I read in a magazine. Plus I think it might damage it. I wash mine in very warm water & rinse conditioner off in cold.

Well the average rate of growth for hair is roughly half a millimetre a day. Mine grows at about that speed; had it cut last week, and it grew just over half a centimetre by the same time this week. So 1 cm in a fortnight, 2 cm's in a month, 24 cm's in a year. Just be patient.

And regarding split ends, those don't have any effect on the speed of your hair's growth. Remember, hair is dead cells by definition, your body can't tell how long your hair is or what condition the ends are in. You should still keep your hair trimmed semi-regularly though because split ends look bad, lol.

I don't get my hair cut regularly. Last time I did was back in June! I must book myself in for a chop sometime, just to neaten it up.

Yeah you don't need to have anything drastic, just a cm or two trimmed off the ends to even up the length.

I got my sides shaved again yesterday btw, closer and further out than last week, I'd post a photo but my camera's FUBAR'd. Hairdresser did it for free since it was just a quick shave, but now I've got a clipper to do it myself next time. I'd better practise on my legs or something before attempting my head though, remembering what happened last time I cut my own hair. XD I wanna put it into a death-hawk til the top & back's long enough to ponytail, then to dreadlock.

No, they don't effect the growth of your hair, but they WILL affect the apparent length. If you don't take good care of your hair, and get rid of your split ends, your hair will break higher and higher and lose all of the growth you're gaining on the scalp end. Once the end of the hair is split, the split may continue up the strand, breaking nearer the top and causing the hair to be weak and break.

Mine used to be super long, but over the summer, I passed out at my friend's house, and her 7year old sister put gum in it, a few inches away from my scalp, so I had to get it cut short.

I'm a natural red-head. :]

I don't know, I see mine as another artistic outlet. All the hours I spend pulling, teasing, spraying and washing go towards a unique piece of 80's mockery.

Which is why I'm so often tempted to shave it off. I hate that I adhere to the standard that attractive women have long-ish hair. I don't even believe in the standard, really. Most of the women I find attractive have short hair. I wish I had the courage and confidence to just be rid of this long hair, which really just lays there weighing me down. I wish I could just shave it off and force people to see me, to look at my face without its pretty trim.

You should get a near-bald cut and dye it orange like the Eurythmics vocalist. In all seriousness, though, I tend to be more attracted to women with short and spiky hair, much like that of a young man would wear. It's just enough androgynous to be sexy, but not enough to be creepy.

I see long hair as aesthetically perfect for both men and women. I generally don't tend to like how people, either feminine or mascuilne, look with short hair.
But before the lenght of the hair, I judge the style. I feel it's a sin to waste such a beautiful corporal trait into having a mediocre hairstyle.

Long hair that hangs down is nice, but it's not something attainable with my genetics...

however, I can get it pretty HIGH... (yay afro!)

ook--right now, it's pretty crunchy though... I must hyper-condition!!

I do love other people's hair... I tend to gravitate towards people who let me play with theirs.

I like soft hair. And soft and fuzzy hair. I don't really like frizzy hair though. It makes me want to chew on it. *munch munch*

-this hair looks especially delish (and so does the boy!) I would die for hair like this.
