Check out Daylight Dies-"Dismantling Devotion". It's in the vein of swallow the sun, but more acoustic!
And Swallow The Sun- "plague of butterflies" should be out sometime this month!

To be honest I don't think All That Remains are all that bad, you might like them. Might wanna go listen to a few of their albums, if you do listen to Fall of Ideals.

Another band you might want to check out, since you brought out long songs, is Moonsorrow. Not sterotypical melodeath really, but if you like melodeath, you'll probably like Moonsorrow even though it's more folk-metal along the lines of Finntroll, but with less of the cheesy singing, and heavier.

They're such a mediocre band to represent Symphonic Black Metal, they're not terrible, but here's some better examples of the genre:

I actually really like some metalcore, it's just a case of finding some which is actually good lol, Heaven shall Burn, Fall of Serenity, Caliban are all good metalcore bands.

There is a big alphabetically ordered list there with some links to download stuff from each band. You should check that out.

Aeveron is awesome. They have a good amount of Black Metal in their sound though, so I wouldn't call them melodeath.
