Talking Guys---Who loves John Waters? ex dee

Guys, sorry for the 'O RLY EX D' title, though I must say that I adore his films. Though mainly his old works such as Female Trouble, Desperate Living, and Mutiple Maniacs...there is, most definatley, another film of his I love...yet it's so easy to figure out. Give ya a hint: a scene depicts a man having hardcore sexy sexy sexy sex with a chicken ;D I also love how he's influenced gothic-type elements. The Batcave, for instance, cited his style of campy dark films as a basic blueprint for the Batcave's dark humoured outragousness (excuse teh crap spelling).

Anyway, what are your thoughts on his filmmaking?

As the delightful Blackthorne knows, I am a huge John Waters fan.

One of my favorite lines from a John Waters film (spoken by the phenomenal Miss Mink Stole Female Trouble):

"I wouldn't suck your lousy dick if you were suffocating and there was oxygen IN YOUR BALLS!"

Oh, there are so many wonderful quotes from John Waters films.

Were I not a bit tipsy on absinthe right now, I would go through a rather exhaustive list... :P

I love John Waters movies. Don't forget Pink Flamingos.

He also came up with a way to categorize certain songs as "filth music".

Thumbs down

I’ve lost some respect for him recently because he sold out to Court TV. Anybody see that show “’Til Death Do Us Part?” It’s god-awful.

I agree though that his earlier work was genius.

Great essay! Thanks for that link~! And yes, his earlier work beats his current stuff in acting or filmwise. I love Female Trouble and Multiple Maniacs the most, though.
