Hullo.

My name is Wax Wolf. I'm new.

Stuff about me:

I like David Lynch, Neil Gaiman, Svankmajer, and Dame Darcy. A lot. I am a photographer, painter, and a wannabe filmmaker. I co-own a yarn store and thus am technically a professional knitter. I also read tarot cards and do astrological charts. I also make some kick-ass pesto, and wear Ray Bans because I totally want to be David J.

Delighted to meet all of you.

Oh, hey, I didn't see this. Silly me.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I run a small business that sells yarn. I knit. I take photographs and paint. I read people's tarot cards and construct natal charts for people.

2. Where are you from?

Philly.

3. Who is your favorite author?

There are many authors I love, but I'd have to say the one I love the most is Neil Gaiman. Although I adore Baudelaire and Yeats and what have you, and I also have a fondness for breaking out the Artaud at 3 am, the one I love most is Gaiman.

4. What are your favorite films?

David Lynch. Svankmajer. Quay. Early John Waters. Todd Solondz. Fellini. Christopher Guest. Bunuel. Billy Wilder. Cronenberg. Casavettes. Gregg Araki. Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Labyrinth. Grey Gardens.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

Plainsong. Is that lame?

6. At your funeral?

Ooh. Toughie. Um...Cab Calloway.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

Heart attack whilst having vigorous sex with Peter Murphy.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

A pink shiny one with fuzzy leopard interior.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

........

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

Being easily contented by candy, sans marijuana.

11. What's your favorite band?

The Cocteau Twins. And Kevin Federline.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

Art school.

13. Why did you join?

Boredom, mostly.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

Female.

If you wanted to die from a heart attack while having 'vigorous sex' with Peter Murphy and you were male, you would at least have piqued my interest.

As it is, you haven't.

Heh. This made me laugh.

Ok, you can stay. But you have to start hating Kevin Federline.

The Kevin Federline bit was supposed to be funny. I suppose sarcasm doesn't translate terribly well to the internet medium.

But if it is required, I shall go on record as stating that I abhor Kevin Federline and everything he stands for.

There we go.

Hi, ever'body.

Squee, someone else here likes weird jazz from the 30's! Hi, HumanePain. :waves:

Speaking of Cab Calloway, I'm also a fan of the Betty Boop cartoons his music was featured in, especially Minnie The Moocher. Good stuff.

Wow.. you are still online from when I spoke to you earlier. You have staying power... a fellow internet geek. I think I'm starting to forgive you for the mention of Kevin Federline.

Oh, by the way, people... what is this thing with sending Dick Cheney over here to Australia for a while? We have enough people trying to shoot lawyers here without you sending over your Vice President.

Take him back soon, please.

Oh my, you have the greatest taste in film I've seen so far on these here boards! If you like Lynch, you'll probably like Jodorowsky. He influenced him, he made films like the Holy Mountain and El Topo, just some info in case you haven't heard of 'im. Welcome aboard!

It looks more like Delicate_Torture was joking by taking the statement too seriously. She does that a lot. Of course you can stay! But truthfully, KFed is not allowed here

Aw, thanks. I love El Topo! It's a classic. Curious, do you know Svankmajer's work?

Yes, I have. His Little Red Riding Hood intreputation was great! And, as an artist, I'd have to say he's influenced some of my own work. It's very expressive and abstract.

I do do that a lot. It's an Australian thing that we refer to as 'taking the piss' - you'll get used to it. Basically take about 30% of what I say as being serious. The problem is that I'll never let you know which 30%. Heh.

My partner is from NY, HumanePain... and at about 16:30HRS the other day the sky went really black all of a sudden and there was this HUGE crack of thunder from no where. Tracey (the girlfriend) looks up into the sky and says in this eerie tone of voice "Dick Cheney has landed..."

I laughed so hard I almost wet myself.

HA! You made me giggle again! I'll have to remember that retort for a similar opportunity...
