Good Evening

Pleased to meet you all. My name is Janina.

Well, I'm obviously new. So here is my introduction. I've just copy/pasted the questionnaire from the rules thread, so if there's anything else you want to know just ask.

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)

Office job. It's boring. I do some work for a modeling agency and play in a band on the side. Those are not so boring.

2. Where are you from?

Toronto, Ontario. But I currently live in Vancouver, BC.

3. Who is your favorite author?

I'm not sure I could nail down a singular favourite. I love Hermann Hesse, Stephen R. Lawhead, W. B. Yeats for poetry, Stanley Kubrick, Aldous Huxley, Friedrich Nietzsche, etc.

4. What are your favorite films?

Across the Universe, Bottle Shock, Eastern Promises, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Lord of War, Memoires of a Geisha, Repo Genetic Opera, Requiem for a Dream, SLC Punk, Star Wars (the old ones), Thank You for Smoking, The Virgin Suicides, etc.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?

I don't want to get married, so it's not something I've thought about.

6. At your funeral?

Probably something by VNV Nation.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?

In a flaming ball of rock star glory at the age of 27.

Or in my sleep.

8. What kind of casket would you want?

Something classic, simple, preferably black.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?

Going out: Black leather corset, knee length pencil skirt, collar, gauntlets, black and red dreadfall, New Rock boots.

For obvious reasons I cannot dress that way at the office sadly, so I usually go for a black pencil skirt and a black or red blouse with heels.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?

The awe and wonderment of so many things in the world around me being new and exciting. Being easily entertained didn't suck either.

11. What's your favorite band?

Again, I can't really nail down one favourite, but I listen to: Apoptygma Berzerk, Bjork, BlutEngel, Clan of Xymox, From Autumn to Ashes, Front 242, Massive Attack, Panzer AG, Rage Against the Machine, Sneaker Pimps, Tamara Podemski, Wumpscut, VNV Nation and Zeromancer among many others.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?

University drop out. I went for biochemistry for two years before realizing that I didn't want to work as a lab rat for the rest of my life.

13. Why did you join?

I'm interested in meeting other members of the gothic community. I don't really know many people heavily immersed in that scene in Vancouver.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?

Female

Very nice to meet you as well.

I have heard Alien Vampires. They're a bit heavy for my taste but I don't hate them. I'm not sure I know who or what Modulator is though...

Good Evening Saya.

Yes BC is incredibly beautiful, but also incredibly expensive. Making the move out here can be difficult. Definitely worth it though.

Yeah they're a wicked band. Can't compete with Zack De La Rocha and Tom Morello in the same band. Thank you for the welcome, mi chicko.

Aww thanks! I saw a bunch of your pictures in the picture thread as well. Stunning!

Don't mind at all. I worked for SHOK Models out of Toronto.

aww thanks! Nice, I wanted to try my hand at modeling at one point, but eh... its such a critical field, and I don't think I have what it takes to put up with that. How long have you been doing it?

It can be fairly critical, yes. It takes a fairly thick skin. Lots of fun if you can get over that though.

I don't really model anymore, but I did for about 4 years or so. Started runway, switched to artistic/alternative. I always found creative shoots for the hell of it way more fun than proper editorials or ads.

lol, anywho, like I said, your photos came out awesome, you could def do it professionally in my opinion.

Aww, thanks hun. Although a lot has to be said for great makeup artists/hair stylists/photographers/lighting/stylists/clothing/etc.

Runway can be a total bummer anyway. Plus you run the risk of falling off it (every model does it at least once, and yes that includes me). Avant garde is amazing.

Do you play music? I play synth/piano/electric organ. It's pretty much my life.

I have to say I adore your username. And yes, most people do listen to RATM, 'tis true. Doesn't make them any less awesome though.

Thank you for the welcome. Pleased to meet you.

Pillock. Such a fantastic and underused word.

EDIT: Also, I might be having a mentally challenged newb moment, but where do I go to edit my signature? I can't seem to figure it out...

You don't have a signature yet, that will be enabled when you have a certain post count, sorry but I don't recall the number.
