Floorlength hobble skirts/dresses?

Anybody have any tips or experience for walking in them? This is for costuming purposes and I'm just curious about how to navigate.

And a warning or three would be great too.

Best to get one that's tight to the knee then flares out a little.
If you're going to get a very tight one that's close all the way down to the ankles, see if you can get one that's got a series of buttons up the back so you can let it out if necessary. Practice taking small steps and get used to not using your knees and thighs the way you're used to.
Going up stairs will be fun. You will need practice, as you won't be able to lift thigh/knee as usual.

Make sure the lining inside doesn't make you sweet or makes any sounds while walking, it's very annoying. Make sure the waist of the skirt is a bit roomy or you'll be in pain when you sit down. I advise you to use lycra fabric for it stretches out and retracts. Oh and wear pantyhose or you will really chaff.

I liked the "Pain Within" skirt and the second skirt from Dracinabox.
