*tsk tsk* NOBODY made an RIP or even a tribute post to this?

With a heavy heart I deliver the sad news that our friend Maila Nurmi, famous for her portrayal of Vampira, has passed at age 86.

*sigh* And it's so sad because I remember seeing a couple of clips of her on YT and it was so keen to finally see her in action.

I hope that they are able to arrange some kind of great funeral for her. If I had the money I'd be over there for that in a flash. She was an icon. :-(

I met the new (and younger) Vampira at Comic-Con 2 years ago, what a babe! I will dig up the photo and post in the picture thread, or maybe in this thread sometime soon.

As far as I'm concerned they all ripped off Morticia!

Anyway, that's really very sad, I only really know about her from reading Goth Chic, but she had a rather interesting life and was one of the first Gothic 'people' to appear on television.
But yes, one of those early titans who will be much missed I'm sure.
Fair play she probably hung up the vampira mantle a while ago, but from what one reads, she seems to have enjoyed it.
Although I might have dreamt that...
