I'll wait for 10.
Just kidding - really psyched to go see this film. Looks most righteous.

I can't decide if I'm really stoked to see this movie because it looks good or because they played some awesome music in the movie theater previews that made it seem really intense.

I saw it tonight and while I would have liked a bit more of an explanation of the technology and the end was a bit cliche but the visuals were rather stunning and I greatly enjoyed it.

I saw 9 today on a whim but was really surprised how much I liked it. I thought it was made incredibly well, the CGI was amazing and really the only con to the movie was its short length. I could see how many parents wouldn't take their kids to see it for fear they'd be scared during it, but then again how MANY of us grew up with the nightmare before Christmas? I was 5 when that one came out and loved it, so i bet some kids will love 9

Saw this today. Thought it was a good film overall, but the ending sucked.

I saw it about 8 hours ago and I quite enjoyed it. The only thing I wasn't a fan of as well as most of you was the ending. I wish the souls would've got returned to their bodies and had them come back alive though it takes grit to kill off characters in your stories like the writer did. Though I don't really see any other way to end it to be honest... I mean they could make another one and have those 4 left traveling around and run into more, prototypes, or just another machine of some sort. It could be a great animated TV series.
The main reason I was interested in the movie in the first place is because it reminded me of an illustrated book "The Plucker" by Brom. Whom I found out about through MTG card illustrations. A lovely book about toys being tossed under the bed and forgotten. the resemblance is more to the scale of the characters and somewhat the design of the monsters. Anyways, I read that book awhile back and own it so the movie holds somewhat of a different perspective to me because of it's familiarity with something I already know.

Watch the ten minute animated short it was based on. That'll be far more worth your time. :\

I think people would be far happier with the movie if they had the monster put the talisman in it's slot to activate the bigger machine instead of 9.

I really liked the concept of the movie but I was super disappointed in the short time length and I wasn't very impressed with Danny Elfmans score this time around... but then again it was a completely different style movie then what he usually composes for.

Yeah, that seemed like a writing cop-out. Also... why the hell would you go and do the thing that your enemy was trying to do before being killed to prevent him from doing it?
