Actually, I once knew a kid who had them pierced like (-)(-) and stretched it... The he pierced it like (|)(|) and stretched it... And now his nipples are really long & they won't grow back. So I would advise not guaging your nipples.

So. I'm honestly thinking of getting a penguin tattoo. Problem is I'm not sure where... And I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what else the penguin could have. So far I thought of giving him a headband, a bullet belt across his shoulder and chest, and an M16.

Anyone have any other ideas besides a gun toting penguin?

ah, fine, gang up on me. No, i'm not ignorant, i knew what i was risking. I Just do my homework. It was all sterile. I only used the safety pin to pierce, then i immediatly took it out and put in the sterile jewelry. I didnt just say one day "Oh, look, i found a safety pin on the ground. I'm going to go stick it in my puss and leave it there for a few days." I also have learned much about piercings. Half of my family is into the tattoo and piercing business.

The only safety pin piercing I have is on my lower earlobe, when I was 12 !!

The rest I did on my own with real sterile piercing needles, and I have a bunch of them in my drawer. Fuck..Don't use safety ins, they're full of microbes and YUK...I don't want to continue...don't do it again, everyone!!!!

Someone else may have done it and it healed. You may have done it and it healed. But it is still bad ju-ju.

There's a reason why piercers use TRI-BEVEL piercing needles, and they use only STERILIZED jewelry. They take an unused jewelry into an AUTOCLAVE that makes it impossible for any little nasty creatures to survive.

Heating up a safety pin and rubbing it with alchohol isn't the same thing.

Of anyone here has done there own piercing - I am not insulting you. It's just not the same as getting it done professionaly.

Oh, and BTW - professionaly done genital piercing isn't all that bad. I would recommend a vertical hood for anyone interested - not a clit. Clits are sacred

How did you make it sterile? Seeing as even many 'professional' piercers don't have autoclaves (in fact they're not common outside hospitals) I can't imagine it actually was sterile - what did you do, boil it?

Hey why did you pierce your clit? I mean it doesn't look nice, you don't show it( in my case) and it hurts I guess. So what the fuck was the purpose of doing it?!?!?!

In the US, piercers get inspected at predetermined and random intervals. They all are required to have autoclaves. Part of the inspection process is to take samples of the inside of their autoclaves.

The place I used to go to only put new jewelry in autoclaves. Even when they open a package of brand new, autoclaved jewelry they would then soak it in a disinfectant for ten to fifteen minutes.

Agh, I hate when my posts time out before I can get to them. Anyways, Florida (the state I got all my work in) has Health Code regulations on autoclaves that are very specific, down to how many hours they are operated. Check page four of this link.

You know, a lot of people here have commented on proper sterilization as being one (very, very good) reason not to pierce yourself. Not all infections can be cured by using antibiotics. I know someone who almost died because of an improperly done nipple piercing. The infection spread into her milk ducts. Will that happen every time a piercing is done improperly, no, but it's a chance I'm not willing to take.

The second very good reason is the risk of personal damage. Improper piercing techniques can cause permanent nerve damage.

I'm all for body piercing, but I am also all for having it all professionally done to minimize my risk of any type of permanent damage.

It was explained to me by a doctor that piercing your clit is different than other piercings because think about it...how does a piercing 'heal'? You develop scar tissue around the jewelry. That means you would be building a callous inside of your clit.

Sorry - I need that organ. That whole G-Spot thing never worked out for me so I choose to keep what I dohave going for me on my side.

Besides, hood piercings are just as pretty.

I don't. It's just stupid to do something like that. There are a variety of diseases people get from not piercing themselves properly, and even an infection can be seriously harmful to your health.
