^ Ah, stormtrooper syndrome. Trained soldiers can't hit our untrained heroes, but our heroes always hit at just the last second.
My cliche: Characters will be able to operate heavy machinery they have little to no experience with if the plot demands it.

No one can ever be shot on a fire-escape...are those things magnetic?! Lot's of pinging bullets but never yet seen a hit.

A young attractive male learns he is "The One". He learns some special abilities and information. Finally, he becomes the lead of a rebel alliance attempting to overthrow a fatuous dictator.

Kissing in the rain. Or over-explaining how computers work (taking time out of the plot to explain how a chatroom works, for example). Also, making computers overly visual (as in Hackers or Johnny Mnemonic). Additionally, movies where the bad guy is supposedly dead, but winds up not being dead, sometimes multiple times (like Hollow Man...because being invisible apparently makes you invincible).

If you start singing and dancing in a public place, people don't look at you strange and anyone you bump into magically knows the lines and dance moves. Huzzah!

If I ever get three wishes, after world peace and freedom for all, I would wish that life was like a musical.
As for a cliche, if you're a black man in a horror movie, your chances for survival are dim. If you're a female virgin, the odds are with you.

Sex is a cliché? What next, films shouldn't include conversation?

No, just the way some films portray sex.

Sex is a natural human interaction, so the way that Metabolik phrased it was somewhat stupid.

I know. I just automatically responded, which often makes me look slightly idiotic along with the original person who posted.

YES! That is one of the things that pisses me off most about movies, especially if the hero is a dink, and doesn't deserve to win.
I often cheer on the bad guy, like Sephiroth in Advent children,I like Cloud and al but Seph should have won.Oh and The "bad" version of Jet Li in The One,I mean the good one was getting his shit kicked in,and some how he still wins.

Boy hates girl, girl hates boy.
By the end of the movie they realize they have a lot in common and fall in love, of course.

How the good guy always ends up somehow outsmarting the bad guy.
Even if the bad guy is clearly a genius.

The one cinematography cliche that really gets me is the camera moving in a circle around a kissing couple. I have a VERY hard time restraining myself from chucking something at whatever screen the offending scene happens to be playing on.
*pauses*
I HATE it when they do that! *rages*
Another thing that is cheesy, at the least, is an investigator having "visions" of the crime s/he is trying to solve.

The main character(s) of the movie almost never die, and if they do, it's always at the end. You never see a movie where the main character dies in the middle and then another sub-character takes over the role of main character for the rest of the movie(Which I always thought would be interesting). So you pretty much know how a movie is going to end: Which is, either the main character is going to go through something dramatic and life-threatening, and be on the brink of death, yet overcome it at the end of the movie. Or the main character is going to die.

The cheapest horror cliche is when something pops on the screen along with the sound of a loud violin shriek.
