What are the first 10 lies they tell you in high school?
Mine were:
1. Every one will respect each other.
2. Gangs will not be tolerated.
3. The bathrooms will be clean.
4. We will be equally funded.
5. Fighting Is not allowed.
6. You will learn good social skills.
7. You will use what you learn in math in the real world.
8. This is a socially safe environment and you will have many friends here.
9. School lunch won’t give you cancer
10. The state cares about your education.

I can't think of one thing that they have said that isn't a lie.

I completely agree with everything you just said. I was actually just thinking those things the other day. You are very smart.

I would have to agree with that statement. They lie to try and keep everyone in line and hide the fact that you're being forced to learna bout things you may have no interest in.

Seriously, when will trigonometry help me catch a bus or go shopping?

Trig isn't too bad, but quadratics make me want to gouge out my eyes with a rusty spork.

Almost everything they tell truly is a lie. As if that's not enough, I go to a catholic school, so I must put up with the whole "dressing in black and wearing black nail polish is a sin agianst god" bullshit. No offense to any Catholics, but I'm really starting to get tired of people trying to cram your religion down my throat.

WHEN YOU INTEND TO INTERCEPT A SPACE BUS AFTER BEING PROPELLED FROM AN INTERSTELLAR SPACE STATION AT 0.24875 LIGHTYEARS PER SECOND OR WHEN YOU ARE SHOPPING FOR YOUR FIRST SHUTTLE WHICH YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE EQUIPPED WITH AERO-SAFETY FEATURES SO YOU MAY RE-ENTER EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE IN ONE PIECE AFTER YOUR VISIT TO THE SPACEMALL OK

No need to shout (or in this case use stupidly large lettering), we can all hear you.

This really bugs me, why does everyone (at least at my ex school) feel the need to vadalise and mess up the toilets? Do these people never need to use them?
It is REALLY hard to go to the toilet when you're gagging on a foul stench or trying to dodge the wet toilet paper falling off the ceiling

Want to make $150,000 a year U.S.?
Then learn Trigonometry and Quadratic Equations. And the Calculus.
Use it to get a degree in Physics with an emphasis in Photonics, Optics, Electro-Optics or Laser Engineering.

Then you can afford a very decadent goth lifestyle and buy all the clothes and music you like.

So yes, it can be used in the real world if you apply it and yourself.
Soon you will all be wearing clothes with flexible organic based LEDs so your shirt can be a computer monitor with a dynamically changing wallpaper and YouTube videos playing on your back, thanks to people who learned mathematics.

That part is not a lie. It may be difficult for most, and attainable by only a rare and gifted few, but it is not a lie. The rest is, unfortunately.

I think the biggest one for me would “all students love a Peep rally”

I went to one on my first day of school during freshmen year and I started ditching them soon after that. When ever a peep rally was announced, me and my friend would go to this great Chinese restaurant that was next to the school. The chef from there used to cook at the Bonaventure hotel and he made the best lemon chicken.

Would talking about God as if it were real count as a lie?

There's also when they said that with our attitudes we will never succeed in life or pass college.

My school's quite decent. The only lie they tell us is that the exams will be easier than they actually turn out to be.

My current school is pretty sweet. No lies, no rules, no bullshit.

And my maths teacher makes a point of explaining in every class how we'll end up using what we learn. For the first time in my life trigonometry has a purpose. It's crazy.

What!? Quadratics are awesome. Trig is evil. My school isn't actually all that bad, we have no uniform and most people are really nice and accepting of each other.

None of those were lies for my old school.

Then again, no one ever actually said any of those things. The only lie they told us was that there was nothing in the fall-out shelter. Turns out there was about a dozen pallets of 50-year-old canned food. And a shit-load of empty alcohol containers.

Yes, that would classify as a lie. And we also had that comment librally sprinkled about : obviously if we get good passing grades in everything else but fail Religious Educatiion miserably we'll be stuck working in MCdonalds forevermore?

Some teachers.......
