Being partially Romani, it is offensive to see someone so revered (but highly feared) being part of what I think is a bit of a joke, really. And, Jane, you can't forget the fact that Vlad Tepes DID do horrible things but he did defend the country from the Turks, and few would dare steal anything while he was ruling.

I think the fighting of the Seljuck Turks had more to do with Ferenc Rákóczi II (another Transylvanian), and the reconstruction King Bela IV. János Hunyadi was an integral fighter in battles against the Turks.... and Tepes was just kind of THERE and is famous for his blood-thirstyness.... and I don't know of anyone from Romania or Hungary who would "rever" him.

.... but, yeah, I wouldn't want to be caught stealing <.< >.>

Most people of Romanian descent don't neccesarily hold him in high reguard but there are a few that think he was a good leader because he kept everyone so in fear that few would dare commit crimes. ;x

He also kept other people in high power afraid of crossing him because to get to his castle you had to pass through a field of impaled bodies.

But to get back on subject, I really don't see Jonathan Sharkey actually WINNING the presidency by any means -- there are too many people that aren't open to anything different than the normal 'Jack and Jill' cookie cutter society that wouldn't think of voting for someone of his character, no matter his platform. It's sad, but it is the case..
He MAY have a slim shot at being governor, if enough people will look past the fact that he seems to have the same ideals as dear old Dracula.
