There are many different intonations in latin languages. And everything has gender, objects and abstractions included.
Potatoe is feminine. Pope is masculin.
Papa in portuguese both means porridge (a papa - fem) or the pope (o papa - masc). And then there's dad (o papá - masc)
La papa (feminine)
El papa (masculine)

Hopefully, I still remember that from spanish... I just find it sort of funny and ironic that the pope and a potatoe share a common spelling. That was all.

Only in castellano, me thinks. In french it's pomme, and in portuguese it's batata. Don't remember italian right now.

I was wondering what everyone was talking about. I missed this post. That sucks very, VERY badly. My condolences, I am close to my cousins, so I can't imagine what that's like.

Texas be a good place for things gothic ...
or backwater ...
take your pick!
--------
I too was pretty amazed by the number of people on here from Texas, and Houston in particular.
--------
And I welcome more discussion about:
THOSE CRAZY CUTE CUDDLY CURVY MILK CARTONS!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm ... fun!

E_P_S - that ... er, augmented Sailor Moon Doll is just a little disturbing I think ... I'm pretty open to people's different fetishes, but the guy that created that doll has some unrealistic expectations I think.
------------
AL - My sympathies ... it is a lot harder when you lose them at a young age. Folks here are dealing with four teenagers killed Christmas Eve by a drunk driver who rammed their van with his SUV hard enough to throw their vehicle 100 feet. It's all so senseless and ... frustrating.
Also sorry to hear about the cold or flu ... I'm hoping you feel better soon.

Just dropped in to say hi.
Everything is fine up here in So. Dak.
I don't have much internet access but, I will stop in when I can.
Thanks to everybody again. It is because of this board and the people here that my life is so much better now. Thanks for giving me the inspiration for the courage to tell my family.

Hello. And rhapsody, I do believe it it spelled dye, but hey, knowing me, I could be mistaken. I once had a problem with dye..... Lets just say the cat was discolored for a week or two.

Thanks Sweets..
Things are more 'touch' than 'go' these days, but I have the support of an AMAZING man (Manimal) and many good friends to help me stay strong and hopeful..
I'm just taking things one day at a time for now, less overwhelming that way.
Whatever is meant to be, will be..
Having Faith helps immensely, I'd forgotten how powerful that can be.
So I am Grateful for many things in my Life, to be sure..
As I'm sure, are you..
Edible_Eye is a Mod now by the way..
He will be Uber thrilled to see your Scrumptious return.
Did I hear that new and wonderful things are happening for you and your band?
Oh and a HUGE congratulations on your Wedding, however belated..
He is also a VERY lucky guy to have such a beautiful and talented woman as his wife..
*Hugs*

The band is doing well. We have all of our scratch-tracks down, and I should have my part of the recording done by the end of the week. At that point I have to shut up for a while. I did some considerable damage to my voice this last summer. The good news is that the Speech Therapist says I should be able to perform again by St. Patrick's Day. Our last couple of open-mic nights landed us some very pretty offers for paid gigs on that date.
I'm so sorry to hear about your health. Damn my lack of a magic wand.

That is friggin WONDERFUL news..
You simply MUST provide us a link somewhere in the Music forum to a few of your songs.. I would love to hear what all that hard work has wrought. I bet you feel like a million bucks now eh?
Also in Music is a thread with a rough edit of the Dark Dub track I am doing with a local band here, if you're interested in taking a listen sometime. I also have agreed to do a couple of tracks with a solo dub artist in Phoenix, who did all of the Techno songs on the Resident Evil I II and II game soundtracks..
I have chronic voice problems as well now because of one of the health problems I'm dealing with these days. A doctor I saw recently reccommended Slippery Elm for gargling, and Peppermint Tea with Honey several times a day to drink. Both are supposed to alleviate hoarseness and the ensuing throat soreness from straining. The Slippery Elm isn't all that yummy but it does help quite a bit, and the Honey takes the edge off of it.
Some mornings these days I sound like Kermit the Friggin Frog, which would be precious if I was Green.
Please link us somewhere to some songs if you don't mind sharing, or email them to me directly when you have a chance if you would prefer not to link them publicly..
Either way, its so nice to see cool people like you come back with happy news..
Makes me smile, bigtime..
Wolf Moon also returned recently(permanently I hope ) as well, so it's like a double bonus having you come back too.
As for the Majick Wand, it's the thought that counts.. Thanks for thinking..
