Howzit!

My name is D
I enjoy old school punk (Bad Brains, BlackFlag, Circle Jerks, The Exploited, The Cro Mags.. to name a few) I also like "Gothic music", and Industrial

I skate, ride BMX, surf, spend time at the shooting range and enjoy traveling the world.
I work in sales.
I play in a band, write screenplays and enjoy writing in general anything from short stories to poems (I hate that word btw), and act when I get a chance or if I fit the role.
I'm very easy to get along with unles you purposely take shots at me.
Well thats about it.
For the record just so some of you think I'm being sneaky I'm no stranger to some of you!
But I can take jokes and criticism very well!

From the resident asshole, greetings.

What specific Circle Jerks stuff do you like? I find most of it rather obnoxious and grating but they do have the occasional gem.

I honestly don't think you know what the fuck you're talking about. If you continue to dazzle us all with your superiority and how much more punk rock you are than myself, this is honestly pointless. I bid you good day.

Fine. :P

Just a lil' piece of nostalgia (and since it makes sense to others besides myself, I felt like it was valid - better than that Paul Tillich quote at any rate), but I s'pose you're right.

Hey Kinflame or whatever your name is, I'm def. not trying to be superior to anyone but with the statements you made about punk, makes it very clear that you YOU are tho one who OBVIOUSLY doesn't know what YOUR talking about. Please wow me with your punk rock knowledge. I've grew up in that scene since the early eighties. I lived punk in that time period, so don't tell me what is punk and what isn't. How old are you anyway.

And please enlighten me on what you think "GOOD" punk rock is, I'd really like to hear your opinions!

Oh if you were wondering I didn't make up my signature it was an old Suicidal Tendencies album. Since Kinlame is so punk he should have known that.

Honestly, who gives a fuck about my age?

People have different perceptions of what is true punk and what is not. Personally I never liked any idea of punk as being sheer obnoxiousness.

Anyway, I'd like to ask how my statement proved I had no idea what I was talking about. I may occasionally be wrong, but I am always very aware of WHAT I am talking about. Your response did not make sense in the slightest, it was an elementary-level comeback (thanks for the phrase Sanctus).

To counter your brilliance, I am rubber you are glue.

I definitely agree. Most of the punk bands I listen to aren't obnoxious anyway. Punk doesn't have to be offensive or annoying. The bands I listen to are just trying to put their view or beliefs across, and if it happens to be controversial, well...

Damnit Badseed, I was just starting to get excited to see a Black Flag fan around here...

I appreciate the quote acknowledgement Kin-baby...
And I agree with your response, what the hella fuck has Kinflames age got to do with his arguing and defense abilities? He's neuron sufficent thanks, so is jealousy your issue Badseed? A 13 yr old may have the mental capacity to both out think and out wit you?

Sucks huh?

Your right though, "ragging" on a thirteen year old is wrong, more so when the thirteen year old discovers your only equipped to rage on an 8 year old. *shrug*

BADSEED or should we say baa-a-a-aseed, since you sound like goat sperm, I shall 'enlighten' you. Good punk or bad punk is determined, just as any music, by the individual listening to the music. Just because you were 'there' and 'lived' it doesn't mean you know what is good and bad to kinflame's ears. And instead of answering kinsflame's question to bring your 'experience' with punk, you make a subjective opinion on what it is about. Personally, I think punk is venting teenage angst about discovering voice and not being pushed around by rules, not to conform just because that is the way all the rest of the fish are swimming, bringing out that life is not a cookie cutter. That is my opinion.

Fear not, not only a fan but I read much of Henry Rollins' work and have attended a couple of his orations.

Actually I think punk was an outcry against how society viewed teenagers and their supposed roles in said society.

Hence the Anarchy and rebellion against all things mainstream, and especially society itself.

The bottom line is, if you haven't experienced the punk rock movement (when there still was one) and you are in a conversation with someone who spent his whole life in it. You should be a bit more inquisitive and not trying to inform him of what punk rock is all about. I never claimed to be the authority on Punk.
Punk rock was a very obnoxious style of music and in your face as well, regardless of what message they were trying to get accross, and sometimes there wasn't even a message it was just, "FUCK YOU!".
Something punk definately lacks within the last 14 or 15 years!
Obnoxious punks, one person that comes to mind is G.G. ALLIN. How about El Duce....... I just don't have the time to keep naming groups and other punks.
The problem is, what is getting lumped into the punk rock genre the past decade or so is not at all punk!

And.....So you are a Black Flag fan, awesome who was your favorite singer out of all of them. Mine was personally Keith Morris being first, Dez Cadena being second, and Hank was pretty decent I guess. Until the Rollins Band.
