Gothta say MISFITS ALL THE WAY! They're older and more legendary, I think they've got the best combinations of musicians-Bassit Jerry Only rules whereas early Misfits go. Danzig's a good, okay heavy metal band, but they're a little too masculine for my tastes. Goth Forever
Though, I think that, undoubtebly, Samhain is the best (apologies for my spelling)

As a friend once told me, Danzig was the only Misfit.

Totally. Danzig is great, and the Misfits are great. BUT they're two completely different bands. Comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges or Bauhaus and Einsturzende.
And yeah, the Misfits were only great when Danzig was with them. The modern Misfits are a cheap imitation of the old Misfits.
Anyone see a parallel with the Misfits and Christian Death?
Christian Death and the Misfits
both became metal bands after their vocalist left
both modern-day bands kept their old name
but... Danzig's still alive and... Rozz isn't. T,..,T

I'd say The Misfits with Danzig.
I prefer old age Misfits, songs like Last Caress, to anything by Danzig or the Older Misfits.

Of the two I only really listen to the Misfits, and old Misfits at that. Glenn Danzig has one of the best voices to sing along to.

The Misfits because they had Danzig. He was better with them and not on his own. And you forgot Samhain, you prick. C'mon now. (kidding)

Both bands are great, however I think that Danzig is more cut out for my musical tastes than The Misfits.

I really don't like Danzig by himself. He just doesn't have it. I would rather listen to Michale Graves' Misfits (which I admit to liking) than Danzig solo. Also I think Samhain could've worked out better. They had somewhat of a gothic rock/deathrock feel to them. They're also so much better than Danzig solo. Listen to 'ArchAngel' and tell me that I'm wrong.

Good goth...I agree with Matt (is okay if I call you that? ) I think that Samhain should be on here. I perfer them really, I mean, they were expiremental then both the Misfits and Danzig-and ironically, it went from one extreme to the next. But anyway, I think that Samhain deserves a thread as well (*pokes at Haunted, Ed, and self*).

The Misfits, hands down; I think it's unanimous.

Danzig all of the way. I love the old more rock songs as well as a lot of the more recent industrial ones. How can you not love Danzig with songs like Not OF This World, Dirty Black Summer, Going Down To Die and Mother? Absolute classics...

The Misfits. Their old stuff is a bit better once you get past the shitty quality, but that's just punk. Their new stuff is fun too. Michale Graves is cited as a better singer than Danzig, but the Danzig era is the Danzig eraa. nuff said. As far as Danzig goes, Mother is awsome.
