I’m sorry, I thought the topic was about abortion illegalization in the mid-west, not how Bush sautés Muslim fetal tissue for to top his fillet of young Arab with…can’t either of you stay on fucking topic?

You know, I don’t dislike either, and Sternn?

I do think you’ve got a fairly reasonable and wonderful mind, but I can’t give you any type of credit when you continually put the shit in the spin cycle and pull forth the blindfolds from the wash, which still (generally) smell of shit.

If you have a germane comment to make, that doesn’t include the middle east or Bush, then make it. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.

I had a few myself, but Edible made such a valid and poignant point, that I didn’t feel the need to expound. I did have a few comments on religion, of how one denomination will try to out-breed another and hide the actions under moralistic religious jargon, and how the fundamental fanatics will try to repress something as simple as the morning after pill because it goes against what they believe is good and right, and here we are with the only alternatives being late abortions or adoption, but most likely foster care until the child has been taught exactly how to live off the system for the remainder of his or her life, if that’s the prerogative.

So what I’m saying is, there are enough issues to discuss without brining any foreign issues to the table.

So carry on Edible, and thanks fighting the good fight.

What? The rest of you think I truck with abortion? That I, after agreeing with the right for a mother to choose what’s best for her, that I somehow think abortion is the best action? Having just gone through our second miscarriage I can’t stress the loss and emptiness enough, but it is our loss and emptiness. My morals have nothing to do with yours, and you are free to live as you see fit until your views impact or impair my rights. I have no right on your body, and so have no say in what you do. I have very little right to my wife’s body, and only as far as she allows me into it…

Bawmchickawamchickawam!

Abortion is not a matter for the State, or the Federation, but for the man and the woman…and mostly the woman.

I mean, if I have to pay for breast augmentation then I have some say in size, right?

TS -

So how is it off-topic to point out obvious inconsistancies with the same legislative body that wants to ban abortion? The same group of people advocates killing some, while goes out of their way to protect others, claiming 'all life is precious', even stem cells. (But not others).

I think that people need to realise that there are more things driving their deeds than their human compassion.

And how can one leave the ruler of such a nation out of the discussion? Especially since he has now stacked the Supreme Court, assuring any and all cases brought forth will be decided in his favour. And do I need to point out the first of many abortion cases on the way to this very court will be decided in a matter of days now?

Well, you gotta admit this topic was rigged from the start.
Quoting myself:

You've made it perfectly clear that you aren't Christan,so why open up a pseudo:"Discussion" when your mind/opinion on the matter is already set in stone(And Damn anyone who should oppose you).

This is becoming one of those times where the parties involved should just:"Agree to disagree" on the subject. I really don't feel that anyone is going to change the others' mind, no matter how many facts or statistics are quoted. So I'm in one camp on the issue, and others are in a completely different one.

Abortion(As well as Homosexuality) are topics that many people have strong feelings for;leaning one way or another. Really, arguing back and forth is going to accomplish nothing except turning the entire board against me and/or getting me banned(Both of which I don't want). So I think that I'm going to work on keeping certain thoughts and opinions to myself that do nothing but start trouble. As well as not posting in any topics that I have feelings against(Just to stir emotions).

Okay, I'm staying out of the whole abortion debate, but the stats here are wrong...and I can't deal with that. I'm suprised no one has picked it up.

1% of women *****. Not 1% of women giving birth.

"SEXUAL ASSAULT. Every year approximately 132,000 women report that they have been victims of **** or attempted ****...It's estimated that two to six times that many women are *****, but do not report it."

So, let's go with the high # and multiply that by 6. That gives us 792,000. One percent of that is 7920.

So anywhere from 2640 to 7920 women in the US become pregnant as a result of **** every year...provided you trust the 1% stated being as it is from a source that has a vested interest.

Bunnies, shut your whiny yapping. If you want to debate the issue fucking do it already, but let it fucking go. You said some volatile shit, someone got mad, they said some volatile shiut back. If you don't want people attacking what you say, then I suggest you look at the way you say it. Plenty of people have expressed your opinion exactly and they didn't get flamed for it.

Like I said in a post above, the ONLY reason I attacked you was because of the way you said it.

I would like you to find ONE post I have ever made where I've attacked ANYONE with a different opinion then me where it was well stated and conducive to a real debate.

Oh that's right, you can't. So shut the fuck up already.

I don't really have much to add to this discussion, except for: Any government who tries to legislate what a human being can and cannot do with her/his own body, is seriously on the wrong track. End of story. It just shouldn't happen.

I'm with Disfunction, Reject... I haven't seen anyone here trying to change your mind. They are simply stating their oppinion AND backing it up with facts so as to see where they're coming from.

You should do the same thing. No one here wants you to think the same way they do, we just want you to explain why you believe what you believe and where you got your information from.. not that hard.

sure. if you're speaking solely about america.

the statistic i gave was for the world census.

i figured the number was high enough to be obvious in and of itself.

It's still wrong. Using your math 40,000 women in the US gave birth to babies that were the product of **** last year. With the statics in use here, it's .19% of over all births that are the product of ****(taking the highest estimate from my previous post). And .19% that you would divide the world birth rate by. Not 1%.

*Curiosity did get the better of me, and this 1% that was quoted is not even 1% of rapes that result in pregnancy. It's 1% of 1900 women seeking abortions(http://pregnantpause.org/numbers/whyabort.htm). So in fact, can't be applied to the birth rate at all. It must be applied to the world abortion rate. So that really makes this whole thing moot, eh?

Yeah, and that's just reported cases of ****. We all know that too many cases go unreported. How many of those resulted in a pregnancy? How many of those women had an abortion?

Statistics suck.

And Xng, I'm not mad at you. Why would I be? You're not spouting stupid shit just for the sake of talking. Prior to my short statement about the Christian AssFucks, I made a nice, stance on the subject. And I quote:
"This is going too far. It's just poor of the religious nutjobs trying to push their morality codes and ideas on the rest of america. I understand that they think abortion is wrong, so if they don't want to get one, fine and dandy. But I don't think abortions are wrong, when they're needed. I'm not a Christian. Why should I have to follow what they think is moral and right in regards to this?"

How about that Xng? We have a difference of opinion and I didn't yell at you or get pissy. Hmmm....maybe it was how you stated it. Some other people here could take a lesson.

Here! Here!

You never realize how badly until you end-up on the crappy side of one.

Even at .19% it would still about 260,000 women a year. Then you start mulitplying that by decades, and it gets really scary to think about the # of women in the world who've gone through it.

On a side note, I have to admit I was so relieved that you were nice to me in your replies. Not because of you at all, but because I'm 4 weeks pregnant. I was kinda skeered when I saw your name. I don't know if overly-emotional little me could have handled a GeishaGirl beat-down right now. Which makes me giggle my mother f'in as off. I'm the most stoic person you'll ever meet, but right now I cry about any and everything.

Thanks I'm very excited, but I shouldn't be for a few more weeks. Pregnancy doesn't usually equal a baby for me...*sigh* The statistic I'm on the crappy side of. I still get to get all emotional for a few weeks though...lucky me!

I've got a pretty good feeling about this one, though.

I relate Hun..

I cannot have children anymore..

But I do have one wonderful Hellspawn of my own..

I get kinda teary eyed when I think about it sometimes..
I would have loved to have another Baby someday, but it just wasn't in the cards.

But, I DO get to live vicariously through all of the Awesome & Brave women here, who have shared their pregnancy Triumphs and Sadnesses with all of us.

I'll cross all of my parts for you, for a bump free pregnancy..

*Hugs*

Well, if we didn't also have Manimal's wonderful Hellspawn we would.

We still might someday. But right now, two is more than we can handle..

Adoption is a wonderful gift, and I believe in the Power it has to change lives, very deeply.

I don't know what you said that would have made me mad. Congrats on the pregnancy! I'll think about you. Let us all know how it goes!!

About adoption. I know a lot of pro lifers bring up this. The amount of people who want to adopt is about the same as the number of abortions each year or something like that. But adoption isn't that simple.

For one thing, a lot of adoptions are race specific. White families want white babies, etc. For another thing, the cost of adopting is really really high to adopt from america. A lot of couples are turning to out of country adoptions to get past all the red tape and high costs, so it wouldn't help too much in this country.

There are just as many orpheans in the US as there are people who want to adopt. Why don't they just adopt those kids? Because too many parents want babies. The children get left behind.

And as far as bunnies goes, Xng, I think we can all see her true colors now. She pissed me off because she DID attack a group I'm a part of. That is, I've had two abortions and I'll be damned if I'm going to let somene say it was my fault and I should have closed my legs.

Like I said to her, she doesn't know shit about shit. For those of us who have made the decision, we know all too well what we've done. Trust me.
