Why is it that when people realise you are smart they automatically assume you are a geek?
Please, someone enlighten me, I would really like to know why a person who is intelligent is automatically deemed as having zero social life and "boring" interests.
Can I not have the ability to use proper English, read books, count properly and generally get good grades as well as have a social life?
And why is there such an opprobrious attitude to being a geek/nerd?
Why is it so utterly terrible to have a functioning brain in your head? Can one not be erudite in various subjects and enjoy accumulating knowledge (which normally leads to wisdom) as well as being a social and fun person?

i went to a metal concert tonight (sorry for repeating myself if you saw the randomness thread) in order to blow off some steam.
It worked...until now. Now i'm sitting here letting something that i have no control over eat away at me.
My little fifteen year old sister. God. i would do anything for her. Literally. That's my baby sister. i like to think i helped raise her since i was the only adult male in the household after her dad was murdered when she was only six.
She's very smart and beautiful.
Apparently she has some rage issues though.
i spoke with my mom earlier and she told me she and Whit had gotten into a fight...a real fist fight. Long version short, Whit went too far with her "rage" thing when she couldn't get a hold of her boyfriend. So she tore up some things in the house.
After she and mom fought, she left. Basically ran away. Mom said she was going to give her a little time to come home and then she was going to let her stay a few days at a juvenile detention center ( a frequent scare tactic around here ).
i may be wrong for doing this, but when i get back to Louisiana her boyfriend is catching a severe ass kicking. i called his cell and told him. i have to take it out on someone/something and my days of hitting inanimate objects are over.
i'm sitting here right now, heartbroken. i've experienced some bad breakups where i thought i loved a girl, so i know heartbreak...this...right here...makes all that other pain pale in comparison.
What the fuck?
