Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

VnV Nation fucking rules, by the way.

:-P I have a VNV Nation encounter story, which is pretty funny considering that I don't like them. I was at a bar,a little bit wasted, when I went up to a friend of mine who was sitting at a table with some other people. I knew a few of them but not all. I think I said something obnoxious and rude, along the lines that I didn't think I would come to the show that she was promoting since I don't like VNV Nation. Well, later on I find out that Ronan Harris was sitting at that table and heard the whole thing. HA!!!!!!! Hey, I didn't know what the guy looked like and I'm not a fan so I thought the whole thing was hysterical. ;-)

If you don't mind the vocals being in spanish, you might want to check out Dorso or Kanatran.

Hmmm...nobody's mentioned Einsturzende Neubauten. They are one of my favorites- not too much guitar, but definitely not synthpop.
You might like: Haujobb, Download, Mortiis, Fear Factory, Helios Creed, Alien Sex Fiend, Thrill Kill Kult, Photek, Squarepusher, Technical Itch, Dj Dieselboy, Lords of Acid, Pigface.

Chemlab is pretty good.
Zeromancer went Apoptygma Berserk on me?! Don't get me wrong, I love Apoptygma, but I liked Zeromancer as it was!

Guitar-driven industrial, heh? May I sugest the new crop of French bands that is popping up?
- Muckrakers (album "Biz Zum Tod"; www.muckrakers.org)
- Punish Yourself
- Tamtrum
- Obzoen Geschopf
For something even *more* intense I'd sugest
- Chrysalide "Lost EP"
- FYD "Defied II"
which have some metal influence (especially FYD). You can find more information about them at http://www.audiotrauma.org/
Just a few names that crossed my mind.

I highly recommend Flesh Field for guitar-driven industrial.

Maybe go for a bit of Hocico, Alec Empire, C-Tec, Atari Teenage Riot, Rabbit Junk or The Shizit?
