Mine too! (Good thing you mentioned it, gah, I have to hunt down my admission slip).
Good luck, Jillian.

Fail! Fail and die!
My brother got 1460 out of the 1600 old version after dropping out at 16, so I figure if heredity plays any part in it I'm safe.

What exactly is the point of the SAT? All my American friends have been doing them and I'm confused as their educational value.
Good luck to those who are taking them though.
I have my last AS Level exam on Monday. I'll be needing a hell of a lot of luck for that.

What's an AS Level exam? Sorry, but I don't know much about other countries educational systems...
Anyway, Good Luck Cicero!

Good luck, even though I don't know anything about it either.

Thanks
AS Levels the first half of A Levels, which are the British advanced subjects in highschool. I think that's how you'd describe them...

The SATs are standardized tests that grade your overall knowledge.
It's basically trivial stuff in that there's no calculus or Geography or anything you need to memorize, but the questions are made to be tricky.
The highest score is 2400.
The smartest senior last year (who did slightly better on the PSATs than I did) was 1900, so I'm aiming at that score. 1800 is the least I expect of myself, but my first expectations (2100 minimum) were maybe a little too unrealistic.
I'll still aim for the upper two thousand range; "If you aim at the moon, the arrow will at leat reach the mountains."

Hmmm... They seem suspiciously pointless to me. Although I feel that way about most standardised "knowledge" tests. Knowledge and intelligence cannot be gauged numerically!

They are pretty accurate, and it's not like an IQ test.
The important thing is that many of the most selective universities have an SAT minimum requirement, and the SAT is just another thing that colleges look in the transcript.
Anyone can cheat their way through high school, but cheating on the SAT is such a gamble that few would dare to do it.

Just want to let certain people know, I am still alive, I just don't get the chance to get on very often right now. I'll be much more able to soon.

Time for bjork_freak's stupid question of the day!
What does it mean when people say "meh"? I had never heard it until I came to this thread.

Oh, ok!
I think I might try it sometime.
Foolish human:
How are you doing today William?
William in a "meh" kind of mood:
Meh, can you please crawl back in your hole? Your kindness gives me severe stomach cramps.
Foolish human:
Ok, but remember, I love you!
William in a "meh" kind of mood:
Yeah, I get it grandma.

Meh is a term with magical properties that etimologically evolved from the Zen term "mu"
The word Mu means literally "I'm saying yes, but at the same time I say no, but the correct answer is to unask the question." A fancy, ancient way of saying Fuck You.
Mu itself came from Ma, from the ancient Chinese language of the Gods which means "nothingness" incarnated. Ma is also the redneck term for Mother, which means that in the most ancient language, they're degrading a woman into literally nothing.
As for now, I've been speaking complete bullshit for three minutes.

Actually, the Mu translation was true. The "Fuck you" translation is my own interpretation.
The rest of it: pure bullshit.

Krovy... I miss you.

No no.. I live in MN, the 'meh' word sounds Boston-ish.
