Teh Hawtness
I have a very uncomfortable problem. I absolutely will never bare my arms or legs in public; I see them as unsightlly nd ugly. My problem, though, is that I'm getting very overheated this time of year. Especially down here in Alabama, things are getting very hot, and with my restricting fashion regulations, I am becoming very uncomfortable. I suppose my question would be: How can I stay comfortable in this heat with my fashion sense the way it is? Is there a certain type of material that is well-ventilated? Any suggestions would be much apprectiated.

What way is your fashion sense? Do you wear aluminum foil? Try grease-proof paper instead.

You can try wearing light colors.

The problem is, I'm becoming very hot in what I choose to wear; especially long-sleeve shirts. I cannot, however, resist from wearing them due to my... er... self-esteem issues.

My idea = Wear really baggy, light colored clothes. Something you'd see on a typical camel herder.

Try sticking to cotton, there's a reason desert tribes use it. Also, wear losser stuff if you absolutely must wear black. anything that is lossely woven or leaves a cushion of air between your skin and the fabric will be more bearable. otherwise, just go out at night.

Also, I don't know exactly what issues you are dealing with as far as wanting to keep yourself covered, but I used to almost never wear shorts because i thought my legs were too fat, or short, or whatever. Now I do, and are proud of them. Sometimes all you have to do is confront those issues head on, wear shorts and short sleeves a few times even if you don't think it really looks good, and before you know it its not even a big deal. Another thing, if you wear really high black socks with shorts, it can be a gradual step while keeping some of your original style. I wear black shorts with black socks and black converse sometimes, and put wild colored laces in the shoes for contrast.

I agree with emeraldonewoulf: cotton is your best bet. And if you can deal with it: no socks. If your feet are hot, you'll be hot.

you could also wear under armour heat gear, it is made to keep athletes cool and it works really well. Personally I like their fitted stuff a lot but then again I hate really baggy tops and this is one of the best ways to keep cool in a formfitting top, although their loose stuff works well too.

I will try wearing short sleeves soon, and perhaps I should even try shorts. I stmbled across this adorable tee on amazon, and I believe I'll be able to wear it without a long sleeve underneath. Once again, my best fashion ideas come to me by accident!

Or maybe it's just what Draco says it is, I still don't wear shorts and I am 34.
There doesn't always have to be some dark and sinister reason for insecurity.
Life creates enough reasons all by itself.

That's true.
I just read that post and that was the first thing that came to mind.
I'm sure that junkies don't have time to be on a forum. They are too busy stealing something or getting high.

Yeah being hooked is definitely a full-time 'job'.
It leaves little time for much else.
