Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Actaully, I do like some country. Especially the "No Depression" style, which Wilco typifies. And also the oldies....Johnny Cash, George Jones, Tammi Wynette, et all.
I just hate this "nu-country" crap. And if you're ever confused as to what I'm talking about, here's the test-if it has a twang, and some yokel slurring something about not messing with America, the flag, or the south, then it's nu-country, and the equation is simple. Nu-Country=Crap.
Wilco, however=awesome.
And why are you accusing me of being drunk? I've never had a drink of alcohol in my life.

It took a song to make you feel old? I figured it'd be easier than that.

Ooooo... I see how it is. Talkin' some shit on the music thread!
That's ok, cause one of these days, Loy, when you're just walking down the street, minding your own business and reflecting on how awesome The Spits are... BAM! 2x4 to the face! You won't think to duck THEN!

It's The Black Heart Procession, dude. Yes, I have all their albums up to and including "Amore del Tropico", which is the one before this new one. I prefer their older stuff, really. As well as Three Mile Pilot, the band they were in before starting BHP. The drummer, Mario Rubacalba, has also played in other brilliant bands such as Clikatat Ikatowi and Rocket from the Crypt and the latest incarnation of Hot Snakes. You should check out those, even if they bear no resemblance to BHP (except for maybe 3MP).
Listening to:
Forensics - Boat Day at the Marina
Crushing blend of hardcore and sludgy stoner rock, with some real pretty calm parts as well.

"Hoppipola" by Sigur Ros from their album -"Takk" I just purchased last night. I absolutely adore Sigur's music -so orchestral, yet so strange.
