I rather love the dresden dolls, I find amanda palmer has an incredible stage presence, and a very elegant visual style to go along with quite decent ability as a vocalist and lyricist, they are very pretensious, but they're very aware of their pretensiousness, they're a bombastic act, and they know they're a bombastic act, I personally find that everyone to some degree is fake, and isn't it just more pretensious to hold pretense to unpretensiousness, more false to lie about telling the truth, they admit they're fake, to quote velvet goldmine: Man is least himself when he speaks in his own person, give him a mask and he'll tell you the truth

I understand this might make me the most überungoth person of all time, but I've never heard the Dresden Dolls. I've heard of them, just not their music. What genre/style is it?

Listen to some here:

Best I can describe it is cabaret punk-rock. Quite unique, and it sounds great.

Hmm this was something I just remembered from last week. I went to London to see a play with my drama class. I had the window seat & she was asleep so I was looking into the cars below from the coach.
Bascially I saw a man driving without any trousers or underwear on. I caught a glimpse of all his glory. Thankfully the coach got itself out of the traffic jam quickly so I could carry on looking out the window.
It was rather strange...

That's fairly terrifying.
Whereabouts was that? Birmingham?

Unfortunately no one has been here since the beginning. The oldest member I knew (not in age) had signed in on 2003.

Haha. It is quite odd to think that no one has been here since the beginning, is it not? Then again, I probably won't be around much longer. Sure, I love this forum to death, but I generally move away from things after being dedicated to them for awhile, and then I make my return, leave, return, leave, on and on.

You need an eyepatch and a mystery bag And you need to be a lesbian pirate, of course.

No, they're ghost pirates!
Sin will get you a mystery bag. The eyepatch you'll have to get for yourself. Don't forget the 'argh'

Hey, I started my first normal job in a long time today. I'm now working at Aaron Brothers, which means I get a fine discount on paint and materials

Good for you?
I went to the doctor's today and got two more days off work. If my arm had hurt today like it did yesterday, I probably could've gotten the weekend off too
But we'll see if tomorrow's strain makes it hurt again...

I am going to the dentist tomorrow for deep cleaning of my gums. . . Sounds interesting.
But, at the same time, I have to miss Gamers' Club. Oh well.
