Devlin: Nice To Make Your Acquaintance.
With a bow, a kiss, and a prayer
I speak easy unto those within thy ear.
Thee shall rise up from the smoke
and behind this darkness glow.
For tis I, Devlin, so shall my name confess.
And behind this loven mask
a zombie seeks some friends.
Drawing, reading, writing, being...
those are the things that interest me.
The Silent Hill series, film noir love stories,
sweet happiness that ends in tragedy,
those, too, are things that I do seek,
along with some friends to accompany me.
So, until next time shall we meet, I will leave you with this piece:
May thou ashes reign down on you;
And bring peace and comfort in smoke and soot;
For our passions shall be consumed;
By means of our trials that hath been removed;
Lingering still is our flame to fight;
Concentrated was thy means to die;
Everyone living hath not a reason why;
Stand proud and strong thus commence the times;
Bringing forth thy smoldering lust abide;
God said it's my turn to die;
Sorry sweetheart, I'm out of time.
Death Comes Unto Thee Who Cannot Reach The Dream.

Welcome, unusual intro. Very nice. (Although if all the posts are in poetry it could short-circuit my mini-goth mind...)

Much oblige everyone!
No, I don't believe I know you so, Blushing Heliophobe.
Yes, it is my poetry, as well as that of me within the image of which you see.
And, no worries. I won't speak poetically everytime we meet. Just on occasion or so it seems. Oh, and if I ever post a piece... from 'the others,' I'll be sure and tell all else...
for plagiarists are lazy mother f*ers.
By the way, the poem I posted, "And Dust To Dust" was actually the sequel of another piece I'm working on entitled, "From Ashes To Ashes." Hmmm, can you guess where I got the idea to name them so? hehe....
Here is the prequel of the sequel:
"From Ashes To Ashes"
And if I fall right on down.
I will pray without a crown.
May you raise me up.
And your soul fly away.
For I can only burn.
What you have made.
So shall you lay me down.
And beneath the shame, I will say.
My heart was for you. But now...
Now, it is up in flames.
Everything that I say is of my own creation unless, of course, otherwise stated.
And one more thing. I recently joined Deviant Art so check it out if you like. I'm waiting till I can get a few more art supplies. Then we'll see my pain truly shine, or rather that of a character that I had up and fry... Read about him in, "A Tale Of The Burning Man."

Again, nice to make your acquaintance and thank you all very much for the comments.
So, until next time we meet and greet...
Au Revoir.

I am torn... you are pretty and you like Yeats... but you seem overly obsessed (yes there is a level of obsession I would consider reasonable) with Silent Hill... There are more worthy things in heaven and earth with which to be obsessed...

Huh - your name and manner of writing reminded me of someone I know.
Small world!
I like your poetry. It reminds me of some of the stuff you can find in the Book of Job.
Welcome.

I think I'm in love! Your every post is creative beyond words, and I'm certain each must have taken more than a few mere minutes. You love Silent Hill aswell? Likewise! I especially love the deep, philosophical side behind each item in the games. Have you seen the new film yet? It's pretty true to the game, but tends to drag on more than a movie should.

Touche' (Morrigan_Dubh).
But I wouldn't call it an obsession. Tis merely the subject matter of which
a project I'm working on consists, or so is my confession. So don't push me to the side just yet darlin; for what compels me so is that of my artwork and its attempt at startlin.
As a matter of fact, I have seen the Silent Hill movie, Draconysius. Besides that I despise
the modifications from the original story (makes it hard for sequels without another convoluted storyline), the pain and torture scenes were quite intense. But, it was great nonetheless. The Janitor, Pyramid Head... Priceless.
I do not worship death. I embrace it. Understanding that of which makes life so precious, can one, only then, experience greatness.
"When Bruning Hearts Collide"
As he sat there with his heart on fire, he raised his glass up to the sky and higher. And with a toast of love, he saluted her. It didn't last as long as he'd hoped, it never does. But it was great all the while. And sometimes when the moon's half full, he can still remember her smile. For when burning hearts collide, nothing shall die but the night left alive. Even in times of death they will still be there. Too bad no one mentioned that to him... the fear! Especially the revolver that sent the bullet to his head.
And on that night, next to the curbside. He spilled his mind and stole his life.
It's so sad no one told him that a revolver would shoot him dead.
Oh, what a glorious Christmas Eve. A cadaver and memories not left to leave. He never got the chance to say this but, "...goodnight and goodbye my sweet. You were my life." And when burning hearts collide, all will be engulfed in time. Even those once left alive. But maybe, just maybe, they'll meet in the afterlife. Cheers!
Here's hoping that love will never die twice...
For now, I bid adieu.

Welcome Devlin, you certainly seem to have a rapier wit and an peculiar affinity towards poetry in a way that I might be able to relate. I also like Yeats, but I prefer Byron and Donne over him. I also enjoy good film noir. It will nice to see you about the boards.

Devlin: Flipside-Rewind. Nowhere In Time.
Tis a diddly that I did recently. Could be a song with words,
like a rhythmic melody, entitled simply....
"Twas A Twilight Tragedy"
I felt the air as I breathe it inside.
Saw the light as it blinds my eyes.
Heard the noose as it gets pulled tight.
Hmmphmph. I just up and died.
I kneel down and bleed for my sin.
Then pray that the killing did end.
I stand alone in my torment.
With dos equis over my face and a barbed wire grin.
I am a ghost who is free to roam.
Around the world throughout every home.
I knock on doors just-a hoping to see.
The shattered-glass reflection that once was me.
Fixed between the shackle of life.
The rope binds thus it burns so bright.
May I gleem such a glorious sight.
As amber curtains unsheath my strife.
A Simple Poet, thanks for the kind compliments you gave to me;
as well as to those at my last meet and greet.
How would I like to die? I wouldn't like to die. But if I did,
it'd be while taking the fucker's life that tried to take mine.
...And into the darkness I step.
