Sadly, Hot Topic doesn't like you if you have less than 40 extra dollars to spend.

I like chain pants, but I can get them cheaper in eBay. I really don't like Hot Topic. They are really quite expensive. I don't like paying 20 some what dollars on a shirt. I find it ridiculous. I'm not a huge fan of Hot Topic.

Yeah, they're cool. I might consider buying them if they sold any cheap ones near me.

Hot Topic is ok, they have some good clothes and merchandise. (sp)
I really dont like how thier goods change so fast with the fads though. They need to stick to one type of fashion and stop changing between goth, anime geek, punk, and prep randomly.

Theres barely anything Goth about Hot Topic except maybe one or two Bauhaus or Siouxsie t-shirts collecting dust on the clearance rack.

ok ok ok
so here is my opinion: Hot topic does have some good stuff (an occasional pair of goggles hear, a trench coat there...) but over all the quality is not that good. Just so every one knows, I am one of those get it at the thrift store and modify it type of people. Also It is a very little known fact, but the reason Hot topic is so expensive is they donate a percentage of their profit to D.A.R.E. and AA, and other anti drug and alcohol programs. Aswell as the people who own it are the same people who own the GAP.

Not sure about the AA thing, but the GAP thing is a myth.

Ipso Facto in Fullerton CA...
...is where i buy. It has an exponentially larger selection of everything. Ten different men's long coats, ten different kinds of psycho jackets (my persoanl fav). And TONS of women's clothes, creepers etc. It is where i discovered Lacuna Coil too. Sorry if this belongs in shill: www.ipso-facto.com
Haven't been disappointed yet. The store has been there over the ten years i have been to that area (lot of other shops too nearby), so it isn't going to close down the day after you give them your credit card number. If you go there in person and want to hear a CD, they will rip it open and play it for you on the store stereo before you buy it.

Ok so I shop at HT and make my clothes. I have to admit that some of the clothes push the limits because some are crappy and the ones that are good are usually over-priced. In my town pretty much it's the preps that have invaded the HT and all the goths have started going to the preppier stores and finding there clothes and changing them up.

Well, Hot Topic was, and still is my only option for clothes without having to order online, make my own, etc... The only other actual 'goth' store, or at least carries clothes I typically wear only has boots.

I find Hot Topic rather boring. It has rather predicitable merchandise and you can find nicer things for the same price at other shops or websites. Or, even better, you could just make your own clothes.

Hot Topic does have some cool clothes but a lot of it is rather expensive... but Anchor Blue also has a lot of cool merchandise (much the same as from HT ;]) at much lower prices.

They used to carry Bauhaus and Skinny Puppy t-shirts, fucking got rid of them for classic rock t-shirts that all of the preps that go into Hot Topic get.

I do agree that a lot of wannabe little kids go there cause they thing they are, like, totally goth. And our Hot Topic employees make it look even worse, except when my husband worked there. But I do shop there, and only there because I do like most of their clothes, I dont know how to sew my own clothes and dont have the time or patience, and I dont like shopping online. No other store around here has my style of clothes. From what I have looked up and was taught from the owners of Hot Topic, Torrid was made first, then Hot Topic from that. Not the Gap like most people think. But that's what I was told. That's my opinion.

I only shop at Hot Topic because Im a poor military college student and because its 2 miles away. Id rather ride there than pay $25 extra just for shipping to P.O. box.

I really can't help but like Hot Topic, they have some pretty neat things. My only issue with them is that it is a pretty pricey store...meh.

I've never understood the allure of things that 'kick ass'. Personally I'd stay well away from something likely to attack my sensitive behind with its unclean feet.
(I'm very much kidding and very much sorry, but I couldn't resist)
